Why am I posting this?

I am not a sports-person. It's not that I dislike them, so much as I am neutral to the point of ignoring they exist? ^^;

But when I'm listening to NPR on the way home, and hear a reporter going on about how the winning teams fans were all relatively calm and quiet (he called it cocky, oi! >:pp ) as compared to the other team's fans...

And then they couldn't get anyone from the team to be, well, really it came off as the reporters trying to get these guys to gloat. >.< Pestering the fans, who were still being coolly happy, and the coach, who was deflecting lines comparing him to somebody named Vince Lombardi? Swear that name sounds familer. Can't remember most of the wording, except it was something like ' - trying to get someone to talk to them' and he quoted another reporter, who was singing their praises and calling them a dynasty << ? Really really pushy, because apparently winners are supposed to gloat to the point of making jerks of themselves >.<

And the player's response was just... not so much humble as very matter-of-fact, and I liked the line saying that making all this noise now - 'takes away from the other two years.'

Classy, is what it was. Quietly proud, rather than running around town beating a bucket and singing 'We are so great!' or something. << and yeah, that was a Simpsons moment.

Stupid reporters should have quit while they were ahead. And mostly I suspect that this is me being annoyed that here these guys were, being classy and cool and trying to oh, aI don't know, leave to celebrate amoungst themselves maybe? And I, in thier shoes, would have been mightly annoyed at this sort of pestering.

Therefore I would like to apologize on behalf of my city if any of said reporters were ours. Goodnight, everybody!

The Patriots are a machine because they don't think they're a machine. It's that glowy good-teamwork essence that no one really talks about. Except Samurai Troopers but then I'm so biased OMG. I watched them beat down our Rams, who were admittedly cock-posing without the cock.

Meanwhile the reporters know they won't sell papers unless there is some sort of Dramatic Story, instead of "We showed up for work and were rewarded." And no, it's not just your town.

Look up Vince Lombardi. His name's on the trophy. Now that was a Story.

Well. At least it isn't just us. Stupid newspapers >:ppp

*makes note to look up Vince Lombardi*

Yes, they were quite graceful about it; the reporters were revved higher--well, *louder*--than they were. Jay was cheering for the other team, because the Patriots were 'unexpected'?
why yes, I did spend a lot of time smirking @ his grumbling and growling^^
