Hello, Trick or Treat writer!

And thank you in advance for whatever you decide to write. Enjoy yourself and I'm sure I'll enjoy whatever you write.

Things that I like! Fluff, a little bit of romance, silliness! Spooky things, ranging from 'eeek! awww' to 'i think my heart just ripped itself out of my chest to escape o.o'. Which is weird because I don't like horror movies? But halloween stuff is not entirely the same I've found. I love world-building! Explorations of how and why things work are always fun.

I covered my DNWs in the signup, but so they're also here: child abuse, gore, incest (I don't think I have any fandoms that could come up in, but it is a DNW so) and vore (pokemon ghosts are creepy and it could come up, but please don't be explicit if you go that route).

And to prevent this taking up an entire page/in case you don't want too much detail, the rest will be below the cut.

Ssssh, ignore this ghost cleverly disguised by a paper bag )

I am so sorry I never got around to writing this! I hope the prompts in my letter are helpful, and I do have older letters for yuletide and things. Thank you so much, and I hope you enjoy yourself writing. <3

And an extra apology for being so late getting this written!

Dear Author,

Hello, and thanks for writing for me! I am looking forward to whatever you write, and hope you enjoy writing it.

What I'd like, no matter which characters you choose, is world-building. How does settling in to the colony tree effect the relationship between Chime and Moon and Jade, as time goes on. It's mentioned in one of the short stories that Jade has never been interested in male warriors - is Chime an exception, or not? Might they have been interested in each other before, and would his change alter that? What does Moon think of any of this, aside from 'Raksura are wierd'. ...does he, in fact, ever stop thinking that, and adjust to the things about his own nature that would feel right now that he is with his own people?

What was Malachite and Dusk's courtship like? Was their colony a more traditional one, being so old? Or was it less so, since they'd left their first colony for a new one?

How did the half-Fell queen's father manage to survive long enough to teach his children anything? Did he adapt to Fell politics, or ignore them? And how did (and do) his children feel about the differences between themselves and their pure Fell relatives?

What is it even like for Moon and Jade's clutch, to have parents like that? And Malachite and Pearl as grandmothers? Nevermind Stone! What kind of stories do they grow up hearing about the old colony, and given the friendship between Moon and Delin, do they get to know more about groundlings than is usual for Raksura?

Have fun exploring! :)

Dear Once Upon A Fic Author,

I am so sorry, I know my requests make me look like a sock! I had nearly missed the deadline, and meant to go back in the one day I had remaining, but then got exhausted by work. So here is all the information I typically put in little blurbs for the prompts, in case I forget to write a letter, only this time it's happened the other way around. ^^;

all of the missing things )

Most of all, though, have fun exploring the story. I am sure I will love whatever you write. <3

Nearly a month later, and I'm pretty sure you're never going to read this writer? But I am so sorry, and thank you for whatever you end up writing!

I am pretty sure I covered most of what I wanted in the prompts, since I know I've gotten terrible at writing my Dear Author letters? But there's always Yuletide letters to look through, and general fannish stalking if you'd like. ^^;;

Thank you again, and have fun!

Day 03

In your own space, set some goals for the coming year. They can be fannish or not, public or private. Leave a comment in this post saying you did it. Include a link to your post if you feel comfortable doing so.

So this was fairly easy, because I'd already been thinking about it.

I want to be more politically active, and I've been making calls to my Senators. I want to work more on my art, and my writing, and I've signed up to two challenges for the writing at least. Most of all I want to work on my health, both physical and mental, which will make it easier to achieve the rest. (Hopefully.)

Hello Purimgifter! And thank for your patience with my slowness in lettering. :)

I am really finding myself in the mood for surprises, so I'll just go with general likes and dislikes.

Please no: scat, vore, incest (as a general rule although I don't think it's possible with these fandoms?) or watersports.

Always yes: crossovers, world-building, fluff, alternate universes and in-character behaviour - which is to say, with the last two, that I like examining why a character behaves the way they do, and how they might behave differently in a different setting.

Most importantly, enjoy yourself whatever you write.

Day 2

In your own space, share a book/song/movie/tv show/fanwork/etc that changed your life. Something that impacted on your consciousness in a way that left its mark on your soul. Leave a comment in this post saying you did it. Include a link to your post if you feel comfortable doing so.

So, two things I think. The first is Ronin Warriors/Samurai Troopers. This is a show I first saw years ago, and I came in late - I turned on the tv and saw this lovely redhead getting his ass kicked by pretty much everyone. (Spoilers: he totally deserved it. I'd have wanted to kick his ass, considering.) But the setting of the park seemed like an enchanted forest, and it felt like a noble warrior getting kidnapped (also not entirely wrong it's complicated) and this was the first time I wanted to write for something, wanted to make something in response to what I feeling in a fannish sense. I'd always gone around singing little songs to myself and writing poetry, but this felt different.

The second is Terry Pratchett. I have seen a lot of people over the years say that he opened their eyes to things, made them see the world in a different way, but for me it wasn't that. For me it was interacting with the world in a different way; all the sarcasm and awareness I'd already had, although his phrasing made it easier to understand and express to other people? But for me the important part was: and here's what you do next. Here's how someone changes that thing they don't like about themselves, with Granny Weatherwax and Sam Vimes holding the line not only against other people's evil but against their own. It's all the things in his writing that say we are none of us the people we'd like to be, and that's okay, you just have to work on it. Here's how.

And, not incidentally, how to look at everyone and see a person instead of an other, even to the end. Dwarves, trolls, golems, goblins, orcs - he pursued bringing every race in his canon in out of the cold in a way that always makes me cry a little. I just wish he'd been able to finish the last Tiffany Aching book - I would really have loved to see the redemption of the elf queen play out fully.

Day 1

In your own space, post a rec for at least three fanworks that you have created. It can be your favorite fanworks that you've created, or fanworks you feel no one ever saw, or fanworks you say would define you as a creator. Leave a comment in this post saying you did it. Include a link to your post if you feel comfortable doing so.

This wasn't so easy, because it is hard to praise myself and because I spend so much time being down about that I forget why I'm proud of things pretty quickly. Which makes this a good exercise for me!

Fandom: Kingdom Hearts

A lot of my fannish life was spent in a wonderful community of weekly challenges on LJ that's been dead for a few years now - a theme would be set, we'd write usually drabbles to that theme, and then vote for the winner - whose prize was to set the next theme! It was fun and kept me actively writing, or at least trying to. So most of the things I really like are for this fandom, though I will do one for another.

Beneath This was for the challenge 'Starting Out' and was a fun little stab at expressing how I felt the main villain of the series feels about his chief henchman (which is a status I took seriously even back when a lot of people didn't, or so it felt at the time). Idk, I think Braig/Xigbar and Xehanort are both fascinating assholes who will absolutely screw each other over, but that at least in the beginning Xehanort felt like Braig was a more innocent darkness.

Now I'm feeling like I should maybe explore that more...

Three of Wands Mwahahaha, I made the three good fairies in Sleeping Beauty the villains! I cannot tell you how much unholy glee I still feel about this. XD >:D I just. I love this! I love the idea of this upside down world where Flora and Fauna and most especially Merryweather are out to fuck up the world and Sora just does not know how to feel about these nice old ladies who are trying to ruin everything, whyyy?!

Someday I will write the companion piece I've always meant to, wherein Maleficent is the kind hermit lady who's been raising Aurora in the woods.

Fandom: Ronin Warriors/Samurai Troopers

castle in the clouds Of all the things I love and wish I'd written more for, this. THIS. And okay, thinking about it now is making me want to cry, because I have so many notes and things, and had so much writing it and feeling these characters I love come alive for me in a way that's different, somehow, than anything else I've written for this series. I'd never written anything where I didn't feel like I could live up to the scope of it the way I feel about this.

But I want to so much.

I am Yuletide failure and just now squeeing about my gift, but it is Perfect! It is exactly the sort of story I've been craving for this fandom, and I have read it multiple times and I LOVE IT and so should EVERYBODY so: http://archiveofourown.org/collections/yuletide2016/works/8875933

Or at least everyone who loves digger. If you do not love Digger, go read it because you will! (If you like unlikely wombat heroines who'd rather not be heroing thanks all the same, and matriarchal hyena societies, and really bizarre deities and questions of ethics that no one should really have to ask themselves AND YET.) http://diggercomic.com/blog/2007/02/01/wombat1-gnorf/

Also! Pssst spot the crossover. :D
