So I finally drop the Hunts and the information-gathering and head back up to Mt. Bur-Omisage. And the Gran Kiltias is quite suitably impressive.
And now I've had to pause it because this, this. OMG. This is the most disturbingly flamboyant something I have ever seen, I don't even know what he's supposed to be, but I had to howl laughing. I think Larsa might have taken the guy's head off if politicking weren't more important than his dignity, because this jerk patted him on the head instead of shaking his hand and and - in the background as he flirts obscenely with Ashe (who actually seems charmed, someone check her temperature!!!) Balthier has his arms folded, and Penelo starts with covering her mouth with both hands and ends up covering her whole face.
Her eyes are peeking out from between the fingers. I really hope she's trying not to laugh. At the point I could see her peeking is when I had to pause, and laugh and laugh.
I really hope he goes away soon. Or starts behaving like a person instead of some horrible stereotype. ...you know who he reminds me of? Ryo from Shaman King. This sort of slimy-smooth always irritates me. >:P
Meanwhile, I shall hide behind Larsa, who at least is properly disgusted by this. Bonus points for Larsa for making an 'ugh' noise when creepy-guy called Ashe a desert rose!
...his name is Alcid? Cid?! wth. O.O
Larsa. Creepy-Cid says the Emperor is dead. Oh, oh no. Oh so help me Vayne if you - if this is what you two agreed to?! It can't be but but ;_; Larsa. ;_;
We shift to Archadia, and the Judges converging as a pack upon the Senate. A senator, already dead as we enter the scene, has been accused of killing the Emperor. All of them are being arrested, while Judge Drace, the woman who was talking about protecting Larsa along with Gabranth - Basch's twin. She's accusing Vayne of being behind it all.
He very likely is. This does not mean his father wasn't in on it too, and at no point am I given clear proof that he was actually murdered instead of, oh - committing suicide to help frame the Senate. They were trying to take down his House, after all - and now said House consists only of Larsa and Vayne.
She drew her sword on him. And damn but that was a stupid thing to do. In a room with two other Judges, both Vayne's, to actually bare steel at all was stupid. Much less level it at him.
But it's very disturbing, the one Judge - one! - who just lifted her by her face and flung her across the room. 'Such strength... inhuman!' Which raises the question, is he human? Or is he just packing some heavy augmentation. I've seen a Doctor Cid in this Empire, after all...
So. Vayne wants Larsa brought back to him. I really don't want to see that happen. Gabranth doesn't want to see that happen, I think, and so he stepped forward to remind them that he was charged with protecting Larsa.
Vayne is wonderfully scary here. He made Gabranth kill Drace, left him with no choice at all. If he had refused, they could have just killed him too. But oh, insulting. "A hound, begging for scraps at his master's table. Would you serve a new master, hound?" ..even in the shock and concern for Larsa, I cannot help liking Vayne. The man is evil and smooth and such a proper villain.
Gabranth I can see growing on me. Even though Drace had to tell him to do it, while he was hesitating. "Live, and protect the young lord." And really, that was entirely too romantic for the death scene of a character we hardly got to know.
Meanwhile. Vayne leans over his father, lifting his hand from the seat of the throne where it had fallen and back onto his lap, and quotes his line from the earlier scene back at him. Very softly. "And so, House Solidor survives."
And now, I suppose I shall stop running over events in my head and actually go back to the game... @.@
Larsa. ;_;
...I want Al-Cid dead. Of Larsa's reaction to learning his father is dead: "Was I perhaps overly direct?" Of course you were freaking overly direct, he's still a child!!! *kills*
;_;
And, great, now we're off to find some sword that will destroy neithicite, and then of course we'll be making a daring raid into Archadian territory or some such. Hooray, Ashe the Warrior Queen. ...I hope she stabs herself in the foot with it. >:(
And I still don't know what's going on with Rozzaria! Why do we have so little information about the other super-power here?! I now have the sum total knowledge of: They're over in that direction there, and they produce annoying flamboyant persons in their royal families! ...so useless. :P
The Stilshrine of Miriam, wherein lies this sword Ashe wants. It is beautiful. Vast layers of stone, carved and colored. Makes Raithwall's Tomb seem tiny. ;p
...and the statues are attacking us. XD
Evil green crystalbug! It's a good thing I wasn't in dire need of a save crystal, huh?
All sorts of undead around here. And here I shall stop, safely stored in the crystal in the Walk of Mind, as there is a bill to be paid before sleep.

Preferably Penelo, because it is teh funny^^ (also, she does *fearsomely* well with it! And someone else mentioned that they all have bare-handed fighting moves? You'd want to test those in an area with simpler enemies, that you've fought before,first.)
...dang, I can't really say much else! =XXXXX
(except yes, Tonberries are always cool^^)

And, this is my first crystalbug? So it must be in an area I haven't been to yet. Must explore mines, ahhh!
And and and *flails*
*wants more hours in the day!*
