Firstly!

Lonely Tarts Club presents the John/Vala Thing-a-thon

Because it is shiny, and encourages couples besides John/Vala. :D ...also, who could not want to eat the delicious chibi tarts?!

So. Now that I am home after finally, finally getting my %$#@ copy of YGO: Dawn of the Duel (the goal of the weekend, constantly screwed up by my inability to get out the door on time) I have half an hour to make with the squee over At World's End. Because I need something to cheer me up, dammit.

And the first thing that pops into my head is that it's funny that Jack's idea of eternal torment is Jack. It is so incredibly wrong, and yet perfect, and rather explains why he was so pissed off at Barbossa for the being marooned thing.

Either that, or the marooning was so traumatic it etched itself into his pysche. But I doubt that. He had rum!

In a more linear approach (Hopefully - I might get things out of order) : Yay pirate chants! But damn, Beckett is cold. There is something hollow about that man, as if he was gutted once and never really came back.

Elizabeth! omg. :D And Barbossa. XD So very worried about Elizabeth's lack of manners. :P

I really liked the scene with Elizabeth and the endless supply of weaponry. Like Ronon's knives on SGA. And Barbossa's expression as she pulled out that last one killed me. ;p

Sao Feng was fun. And it made me curious what Jack did to the man? But really... he was distinctly lacking in intuition. Mistaking Elizabeth for Calypso was only part of it, I can picture him making the same mistake around Jack and he runs on intuitions and quick thinking. Just... ouch. x.x

Barbossa really grew on me this time. I love the way he rolls his eyes, and the odd way he has of ending up in charge - he's so business-minded. *nods* Also: Hector. omg. XD

The way he and Jack interact? Freaking priceless. They would make such a good team - if they weren't both so determined to be on top that it interferes with business. XD Thing is, really Jack wants to be the center of attention more than he wants to be captain. He is so very, very "Look at me! LOOK AT ME! I'm shiny and clever and sexy! :D "

Whereas Barbossa (Hector! squee) more wants to be in charge because he knows what he's doing and doesn't believe anyone else does, really. Bit of a control freak, there. But justified in that he does know what he's doing, and he's a better captain dammit. Better'n Jack, anyway. ... I will note this does not prevent him being wrong, as evidenced by the whole "freeing Calypso will solve our problems" plan. Oi o.o

Which brings me to Calypso. Tia Dalma. Did that not rock! >:D "There is an evil on these waters even the staunchest and most bloodthirsty pirates have come to fear."
"Because he was only dead."
"The man has become a monster."
"It is my nature."

Tia and her crabs and eeee. Although the storm at the end was a bit disappointing. I wanted her to destroy the Armada, don't you know. ;p That scene between her and Davy was one of the best in the whole movie.

And now I'm out of time, dammit. Also I have a craving for icons that I won't even be able to make until it comes out on dvd. ...unless I can find a good eye-rolling shot from Barbossa in Curse... *ponders*
