Well, I feel worn out and frustrated right now. Mostly because I still haven't gotten myself to sit down and find my place in the NaNo.

What I have done: More cleaning

Took my car to get her oil changed, and ordered a new passenger side mirror.

I have carrots cooking right now. Yuck. But they're good for me, right?

Made a donation somewhere. :)

Laundry!

And yesterday, I went to pick up the newest YGO. We have reached Millennium World #5, and there are no words for the love. LOVE, I tell you!

omg, Kazuki Takahashi is insane. XD

I always love his tiny writerly blurbs at the beginning, but some of them do stand out: this one telling how long it took him to break into the business and that perseverance is the key! In really sincere happy language! ...next to a picture of the Pharaoh looking almost like he did in the first few episodes, with a note that reads 'Guess what! I was originally going to do a horror manga!'

AHAHAHAHA like we didn't notice, omg. XD

And there is so much here, all those beautiful details that make the story consistent, that shows people who were reduced to cardboard in the anime with their proper depth. Thief King Bakura interacting with the ghosts in a way that really reminds you he grew up with these things. And his thinking that this time, the priests will be the sacrifice. Just. *shudder*

The Pharaoh, constantly surprised by TK Bakura's strength. He keeps thinking, essentially 'Okay, I've got him now! ...what?!'
'Okay, now I - AUGH!!!'

There's a point where he told Bakura to go to hell, and he meant it. None of the shiny laughing rage with which the three main guys tend to regard, no 'wheee!' in it. And it occurred to me for the first time that maybe Yugi cannot help his little blind spot when it comes to Ryou. Maybe that pain and anger got etched so deep that he can't be friends with the guy with completely disconnecting him from his past. Which doesn't make it right, and I'm still ranting every time he refers to Ryou in helpless puppy terms? *seethe*

But I do think I get why now.

And then. Then that lovely point where the world turns on its head. And nothing in the anime begins to do justice to what Ryou made, all the lovely intricate. little pieces and the size of the thing and the fact that it's hidden in a room behind the Tablet of Memories. XD Nevermind that the unconscious bodies of Yugi-tachi are lying in coffins (sarcophagi?) off to the side of the table and behind Bakura? XD Akhenaden's Mummy! XD

He's been bloody channeling the guy's spirit - which is as much to say Zorc's spirit - the whole game. And you know, I don't even have time to get into the Bakurae debate here. Who is it! Which one, because he's got to be back in control of Ryou's body here but - gah. It's going to need a whole other entry to go into that. ...I love my boys. ^_^

Tomorrow - because this must be described in proper detail - How Bakura and the Pharaoh argued over who gets to play with Seto!

AHAHAHAHAHA!!!

In reverse:
=D
so, Ryou *is* TKBakura reborn? Can't jump out of the circle because he's in it up to his eyeballs? =/
(pair the carrots with something? Peas and carrots are good? Or carrots and corn, or sorta let them near carmelize and have--oh! hey! Carrot muffins?)
*hug*

Ha! I see your reverse and reverse your reversal! ...erm. @.@

*hugs*

Eh, I managed? Although I need to figure out something tasty to do with them, there wasn't any time yesterday. Not by the time I made myself move. Tonight, I look up recipes.

And yeah, as far as I can tell, he is. There are serious questions as to the conditions of thier soul, because he was/is in it up to his eyeballs. o.o

And here I am fighting the urge to go back into the rant, because it is to rant! Rant and beat the Pharaoh with carrots, because it's bad enough that Royu can't get out of this without the Pharaoh also preventing him and ack.

Ranties (and mind-numbing squee over the Seto-fight XD) later, when I wake up. Crashing...erm, soonish. I kilt the Saurian in FF12! I am still wandering around level-building there. Is an average of 24 high enough levels for the Valley of the Dead? XD

Jay says to level up a lot more, especially if you don't have any cheat codes on (and, if you *do* get a cheat device...do NOT use the 'All Espers' spell! It keels your game! Stuffs carrots into its ears and laughs madly as it runs into the night!^^)
...;_; Ryou needs cuddles. Srsly. And possibly a harem. =D

[identity profile] lrodell.livejournal.com 2007-01-10 08:03 am (UTC)(link)
aaaaaand a certain *brunet* could be part, except he might kill meh^^ (he has a gym set up somewhere in that office complex, man--it is not *normal* to be able to throw 11-year-olds like footballs! Cool, but not *normal*^^)

[identity profile] spoke.livejournal.com 2007-01-11 02:43 pm (UTC)(link)
XD Seto is pretending he did not hear that. ;p

He totally has a gym, he has to. :)

..oddly, I like Seto with Bakura or Ryou better than Yugi & the Pharaoh? It's just a lot more equal of a relationship.

[identity profile] spoke.livejournal.com 2007-01-11 02:40 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm working on it? I chained a lot of werewolves and got a katana off them, and that got me up to about 26 - for the girls. ...I should probably give the guys some time too, huh? XD

But no cheat codes! Just like no guidebook! Because I am insane and nostalgical, and back in my day we didn't have such fancified things as Game Genies and guidebooks! We had to figure out mazes while walking uphill in the snow and do our level-building while rescuing our socks from the otters in the river where we had to wash them and and!!!

I need to stop now. XD

Ryou needs so many cuddles. And not to listen to Bakura, who insists that killing Yugi will make everything better. *chases the 'kura with a mallet*
