Feb. 23rd, 2006 05:46 amThe Plan: Distract myself from Lovecraft creepiness by cooking! A nice grilled cheese sandwich (easy) and chocolate cookies (never attempted before).
Erm, success? Sort of? They are tasty and chocolate, darnit! Even if they did turn out more like little bites of brownie than cookies. >.>
The Original Recipe:
( What it was )
What Happened To It Courtesy of Me:
( Or, 'So if I don't have this ingredient, can I use this?' )
Things I Have Learned From This:
1. That baking powder makes things rise, because it is a leavening agent. ( Thanks
lacey!)
2. Cats love butter. The feelings of butter towards cats remains unknown.
3. There's a reason kitchens are supposed to have doors, and it is not to let my cat have butter. >:P
4. One needs more than one mixing bowl. Cereal bowls? Not a good substitute.
5. Confectioner's sugar : Just when you thought you'd never need it again!
Meanwhile, not only have I managed to slightly creep myself out with Lovecraft again, I stumbled upon an unexpected connection via Lacey: (I would have pasted directly from the IM, except that when I went to do so I closed it. *grits teeth* I will ignore the universe and its kicking. I will, I will, I will! )
Me: *talking about Egypt in Lovecraft*
Her: *says that that sounds like Hellraiser*
Me: *admitting I've never seen that*
Her: *descriptions*
Me: *with the pointing and the saying 'Lovecraft! Lovecraft!!'*
*pausing for a moment*
*noting that the creator of YGO has said that it was partly inspired by Hellraiser, among other things*
So, yeah. o.o Now I have to wonder if said creator has also read Lovecraft himself... which considering the freaking Evil Book of Ancient Spells *coughNecronomicron!!Burn it!!cough* omg. XD XD XD
I will ignore the muses' field day. I will not write anyone any kind of Lovecraft story. I won't I won't I won't!! ...although, the Pharaoh’s offense at what he insists is Lovecraft's defamation of Egypt? That's funny.
