Bookstore run! My goal: Pick up YGO Duelist #21. Which I kind of missed coming out in the whole mistaken HP thing? ^^;

Browsing the shelves is always fun, but has very rarely been this productive. At first I was going to get this lovely leather-bound collection of all the Sherlock Holmes stories. What with one of my paperbacks having split down the spine. It is dead, but I will not let go of it until I have a replacement! Also there was an interesting little guide to Sherlock Holmes, with facts about Victorian London and such.

Well, I'll have to go back for those. Because I found the most gorgeous book by the Smithsonian, a guide to rocks and minerals? Just flipping through the pages, it was like being in a museum. It brought my NaNo, and all the stories connected to it, so vividly to mind. So. Not having enough money for everything, I struggled with that decision for oh, maybe a whole minute - which actually says something about my love of S.H., since that really should not have been a decision.

Then to the counter! To pay for my YGO and Smithsonian book (more connected to each other than you might think) and get a coffee. And off to home, where I noticed for the first time that being really happy causes me to speed a little bit. I thought that only happened when I was ticked off.

End result, after floundering through the chaos that is a NaNo and finding my place again: 1,262 words and I know where I'm going again. ^_^

Now for break, and lunch, and reading. eeeeeee, reading. Then there are all the little cleaning things I need to do before this morning's goal of going downtown to college. Plus stopping whenever I might feel like another stab the NaNo, working titled 'Lost Hours'.

Firstly, because I am proud of myself:

I did it! And then I collapsed.

Random things from the land of the out of contact but not actually dead:

The 8th will be the last day of the evil manager lady, ha! But she'll still be there when I come to work tonight, boo.

I have Pirates of the Carribean! And FF XII. *.*

But when I bought these? I was utterly, utterly convinced that it was Wednesday. I should've realized something was wrong when I noticed no one else had taken their trash out yet. But nooo. I noticed that I had moused over the time on my keyboard without meaning to and - what does that say!

Noooo, I want to stay home and play with my game and watch Pirates, damn you Tuesday! AUGH!!!

I may go insane at work tonight, I'm not sure I can stand to have to go a whole night when I'd gotten this far ahead of myself. I blame Pirates of the Carribean and my eagerness to watch the Kraken smash ships. Yes.

Tonight I shall probably poke at starting my Christmas projects and play FF XII, as I don't think there will be enough time to watch Pirates. Oh, and maybe work on Yuletide more, although thinking that it was due on the 7th instead of the 19th has made me much more relaxed.

Question of the day: Where has my sense of time gone, and why didn't it take me with it.
spoke: spider with a pen on a book (Default)
So after waking up in a wonderful state of weepy jittery moodiness? And blowing my lead on my word count?

I got to work. My car window would not roll up. Not quite wide open, but wide enough that anyone who wanted could've taken it. So a nice gentleman from maintance tried to open it up to get it shut for me - no good. And I ended up having to go ask the evil manager lady from heck for permission to go home for the night. Of course she didn't want to let me, but she had to check with my immediate supervisors to see if they could spare me, before telling me I couldn't leave?

I love my CSMs. Just now we don't have a bad one in the lot, which really makes the crappy upper management more bearable.

So now I am home for the night and going to use personal time to cover the missed time (if that's allowed) and work extra if it isn't because the bills are getting a bit painful right now.

And I should be a lot cheerier, considering I have this extra time for NaNo and I got a Mazzew off the Wheel of Monotony. But it feels like ice over a river, and as soon as it breaks I will be all ;_; again. Not looking forward to going up to Pepboys in the morning either, even if I am happy they're open Sunday.

Coffee. Coffee and some ice cream and some gaming before I try and tackle NaNo again, because I know if I can get going on that I would feel better.

As of the 17th, at 30,097 words - a whole day ahead!

I'm probably going to need that lead going into Thanksgiving week, when work will be kicking my butt and we're only supposed to have one day off.

And Lacey, the card did arrive finally! :D *swims after fishies*

*before swimming glumly off to work, armed with shopping list for Thanksgiving foods*
spoke: spider with a pen on a book (*insert manical laughter here*)
On the one hand, insanely sleepy and still headachey (have been all night) and yes, my mood is being determined by the Wheel o' Moody. Current stop: errmm... yay? ^^;

On the other, the above mood was influenced by getting the car insurance bill mailed off (yay insured! ouch, money. -.- ) and in one long run making up for an entire night of senselessly goofing off and missing two days' worth of NaNo - my word count's now current up to today. Erm.

I can do today's when I get up. Who knows, maybe I shall finally reach the insane goal I've had this entire time and get a day ahead before I go back to work. >.>

Land Before Time - If We Hold On Together Gauranteed to make sad people feel happier! ...or in my case, painfully sappy. But we can't have everything. :P
spoke: spider with a pen on a book (twitching)
I? Need to exercise that self-discipline thing I suck at, and get some sleep so I can finish catching up on my NaNo when I get up.

But I wanted to do one thing I'd been meaning to do before I slept, and that resulted in such a giggling squee moment that I had to share it:

For those who don't get the joke... well, isn't it darn cute anyway? O:)
spoke: spider with a pen on a book (spooky)
NaNo count! 8,411 and the first time I've been on target instead of behind. Why is it so easy to goof off during NaNo?!

...meanwhile, Yuletide lurks, with an assignment waiting to cause extra panic when the idea hits me. Why I signed up for that and NaNo, I do not know.

Edit: Happy Birthday, [livejournal.com profile] shusu! *sends shiny caramlized somethings of your choice* :D

Another fun meme brought to you by rfreebern.

Waaah! Lacey! No matter how many times I changed it, Toothbrush! XD

The first three days of the week? Evil Manager-free. It was so nice.

Then I found out I'd be seeing her again tonight, and was of course a little upset. Sure it was going to be a bad day, you know. Which seemed to be borne out with my earrings not even having arrived yet and then losing my passenger side mirror because I'd been parking too close to the wall ever since Dad complained that I was parking too close to him. x.x

But! I spent the day with the cutest ever Eeyore plushie watching me(he has a new home now ^^) , and about an hour after my lunch I found Evil Manager had dropped a pallet on her foot. Perhaps, morally speaking, I should not be happy about this.

But I really really am. And it kept getting better. It turned out it wasn't just a pallet, it was a pallet loaded with water, and she didn't just drop it - she was operating one of the mechanical lifters without a license and screwed up. One can be coached for operating machinery without the proper license. Upon being told this by Y. in shoes, I grinned and said 'Oh, I hope she does.'

She shook her head and told me that's almost what Sig (not even his real name anyway) said, and that he added "This is what she gets for being mean to us." ...only guy in the store that would phrase it that way. I died. Ha! >:)

And at some point in there, I got to thinking about having been poked about my art, and what a good cover for my NaNo would look like? And it sent me off on a tangent that has cleared up a block I was a little worried about. Didn't want to start NaNo without figuring this out, but now I have! (Mostly ^^; ) So, JOY! *glomps the [livejournal.com profile] shusu*

And now it is Halloween in Neopets, and I have Kacheeps! The Cute! XD Now I shall just continue poking about in Neopia until I've found all the shiny! Then I can sleep. ;p

omg Neopet Peeps ahahahaha!
spoke: spider with a pen on a book (spooky)
Well, I woke up incredibly late. x.x

Bravely continuing searches anyway! I think I need to reword this, though. I'm learning more than I ever really wanted to know about spiders, and occasionally the entomologists researching them:

If these spiders were indeed deadly poisonous but couldn't bite humans, then the only way we would know that they are poisonous is by milking them and injecting the venom into humans. For a variety of reasons including Amnesty International and a humanitarian code of ethics, this research has never been done.

From here: Daddy Long Legs Myth which sounds as if the writer has had to answer questions about this a bit too often.

Well, I went and signed myself up for NaNo.

Now that I've done so it seems like total insanity, of course. Yay for random sleepy panic attacks. (no really, that's what reminded me I hadn't actually signed up yet) :P

But when a character pops back into your head with an intensity feels almost physical, it's kind of hard to ignore. So.

I'll just be over in my corner alternating between trying to finish my screen capping (I plan to use playing with icon-making and such as a stress reliever/reward for achieving word counts) and flailing about making story notes and pretending I have a clue what I'm doing.

Lost Hours, story babble )

Goal for today: Name-hunting when I wake up.

In other news: The shiny earrings will eat my brains, or 'Stupid me forgot how incredibly tempting she finds Wild Bryde jewellry'

Spider earrings, found mine on Ebay And yes I will wear them when they arrive. :P

But I love the dragonfly in there too, and there's a scorpion! And finds in other places include cardinals, blue jays, a dragon design, a phoenix, the swans I never did get (but I will!) and four separate coffee types. Though what's really tempting is the coffee splash with beans design.

Must restrain myself, really really must. Gorgeous shiny earrings are not necessary items. But Coffee! XD

Wheeee! I did it, I did it, I did it! :D
I finished NaNoWriMo! 50,063 words!
*dies, having used up all available brain cells in last mad rush*

But I couldn't get to lj last night to say so! It made me sad. :( I consoled myself throwing confetties at Christina and being very babbly happy. ^_^

Now, I can begin catching up with many, many things! :D Like Kingdom Hearts! *puffs self up* I was very disciplined and all, cutting myself off from my video game. I will reward myself by renewing my addiction! *.*

I am so late, now. << Not as bad as some points in NaNo, but I need to break this habit. Again. ^^;;;

you are darkslategray

Your dominant hues are green and blue. You're have good intentions and want to people around you to get along. Even though you tend to battle with yourself, you are very good at solving other people's conflicts.

Your saturation level is higher than average - You know what you want, but sometimes know not to tell everyone. You value accomplishments and know you can get the job done, so don't be afraid to run out and make things happen.

Your outlook on life is slightly darker than most people's. You try to see things for what they are and face situations honestly. You'd rather get to the point than look for what's good.

No, go on guess! ^_^

Wait, no one can guess until I post... *ponders* Nope, not that patient!

I found a bird! A red bird, even! Only it's not stuffed... but that is a minor detail. hush yes it is minor when I would probably never ever have found a small plushie red bird

It's actually a Christmas ornament, one on the ones with small wires on the feet so it can be curled on a branch. I put some up last night while doing returns, and stopped and stared because why hadn't I thought of this before?! My Mom loves these things, we had them on every tree forever, and I have to have one shoved under my nose before it occurs to me? O.o I am strange...

I have begun an inventory of characters, because I am concerned that there is a higher than normal (?) of insane/emotionally tramuatized persons in here. << >> However, it has also become a list of why I love each character, and so this may take a while. Also, due to Shusu's request re cast lists, the NaNos want in on it too. Which might be nice, given that it's more life than I saw out of any of them last night. -.- I will not think about my word count, it will only lead to guilt and frustration

And I beat it!

Nightmare Before Christmas )

Is it just me, or is his I.Q. dropping? <<;; If I wake up and he's gone chibi or something, i'll... i'll probably lmao until I choke, is what.

And! Have had a wonderful funny thought, whilst talking to Whitney-there should be weather reports for muses, warning them of various moods and their effect on headspace. >.< I wanted to do an example report, but am scooting too much between bouncy -see above- and blah -see now.

Maybe I will write one tonight. Have an image stuck in my head of a tv being kept on so the muses can check the weather before going out/making bids for attention. << And someone going out despite a very bad report?

Oh, and a final note-whomever in my headspace was responsible for the image of chibi Troopers and Masho running down and beating the snot out of a chibi Arago? Complete with huge dustcloud and little cussing symbols? :D Thanks! suspects it was Shuten-big softy

Edit: Entirely too late, I notice I messed up the cut-tag. :( I hate when I do that. >:(

Last month's copy! *_* True, it is just a tiny bit beat up *slaps her fellow employees for not handling books properly-all the time, things get bent and worse around here because people just toss the books into return carts without caring what it'll do to them-and that's enough work ranting* but! It was the only copy left! ^_^

In fact, after some searching, they were the only copies of either that I could find in the store. O.o Perhaps I have been mysteriously gifted by some higher power? << >> If so, they could have just dropped them in my purse, you know, so I wouldn't have had to pay for them. ^^;;; *waves to the higher power* Just kidding!

Yes, I am quite mad. Why do you ask?

Moving on to Kingdom Hearts, so that I can get the squee out of my system and start on NaNo again... ^^;;;

And I only put four pieces on wrong, resulting in my having to totally remove them. >.< The first two I didn't feel so bad about, but the second? Suffice to say they were clearly shown on the box which was right next to me, and I am an idiot for not seeing it.

Still, this is my 3rd piece of succesfully assembled furniture! :D

I am neglecting NaNo shamefully. *is ashamed*

And yet, this I must share, as it is possibly the funniest thing that has ever happened in my headspace. And of course NaNo is spawning side ideas... )

And, of course: Continuing Adventures in Kingdom Hearts )
spoke: spider with a pen on a book (ink and excess)
Lurking in the next room, leaning against a table, is a cd/dvd/vhs cabinet. I choose to purchase this after going through the ritual of tiltting my old cabinet and pushing at the broken door thereof for the hundreth time. Now, I must wait for my Dad to come home, that I might pester him for a screwdriver, that I might begin assembling. <<

>> And, in the words of heroes everywhere before the s*&# hits the fan, 'I have a bad feeling about this.'

Also, while shopping, I wandered through the toy section, idly wondering when my sister would tell me what toys to get. And saw this little fluffy stuffed dog, that sort of looks like a Doberman.

At this point, I must point out: I hate dogs. Not to the extent of wanting to kill them or anything, I'm fine as long as they leave me alone? Some of them even look beautiful, I just don't want them near me. Too many encounters with vicious dogs as a kid, due to the redneck penchant for letting the sort of dog that shouldn't be allowed anywhere near kids to run loose in the neighborhood. I'm talking pit bulls, chow-chow (which are okay with thier own families, but everyone outside of that is a threat apparently) Doberman, Rottweiler, etc. Occasionally, someone would get something cute and small, like a Pekinese. Those I almost felt sorry for, seeing as they didn''t last long. The only small dogs that did were like, varities of bloodhounds.

*blinks at what she's just written*

And that is enough NaNo-like rambling on the subject of dogs, lest I start going on about the evils of each particular type of dog and end up with an essay. Back to my original point: the little fluffy Doberman? Is now sitting on top of my computer, due to Raphael, main character of my NaNo, popping up and insisting it was 'him.' <<

>> .2 seconds later, a patch-patterned stuff cat joined it. That would be Donovan, his ex-boyfriend from college and current second in charge of thier expedition. O.o

This all made me think of the stuffed frog in my room, whose name is Trevor, and the little black cat with a witch's hat that I picked up just after Halloween" Minerva. And I wondered, when did I pick up this habit of having stuffed toys that represent characters? And then I remembered that when I was little, all my stuffed toys were people. Now, apparently, all my people need to be stuffed toys as well. ^_^;;

The biggest problem caused by this? Aidan, second main character and love of Raphael's life (once the moron stops freaking about the past) is a bird. Oh, he's definately a bird. But where the heck am I going to find a stuffed bird?! I looked! They don't exist, at least not in Wal-Mart! And he's sulking because he doesn't have a stuffed representitive for me set by Raphael. << Okay, so that's actually pretty funny. XD *restrains herself from pointing at her most talkative NaNo and laughing*

Also, because I need to get this out of my system before I'll be able to write: Continuing Adventures in Kingdom Hearts )
spoke: spider with a pen on a book (distant)
