graah, must remember not to flip LJs so much; am probably confusing people? Will work on the scents/smells meme; poke me occasionally? am easily distracted =p Mmm, Key Lime pie...lemon is a more common 'exotic' flavor for me, perky and wake-up and let's go, go go!--lime is for those pies, and something someone gave us, with all sorts of herbs in it, some mega-healthy herbal tea which was pretty good as long as you didn't look at it while you drank it?^^ actually associate tea and lemon together, more public; or tea and milk, more at-home, rainy day, put on some music and read thing. I can eat chocolate anytime, but there are times I *crave* it; any sort will do then, but usually I prefer dark chocolate. Oranges, kiwis, and mangoes: messy, happy times; discovering you can peel a fruit with a spoon; eating same fruit over the sink or on the porch; figuring out how to angle a knife *just so* to make orange supremes. Peaches go in that category, too^^ Strawberries: summer or spring; joy; fruit salad; family gatherings. Caramel slides right into pralines/praline sauce for me? My mom had a recipe for a version called Aunt's Candy--2 inches thick, with or without pecans. The pecans are to slow people down, really; it is not meant that man walk around consuming that much sugar and cream (well, evaporated milk) and nnngh^^--caramel apples, so much harder to find around that you end up making them yourself, if you can keep the caramel squares hidden long enough =p Thunderstorms: Ozone and heaviness in the air. I love it, no idea why? The wind from a storm; the quiet in the eye as a hurricane passes overhead, the birds peeping, the insects testing things, me and some dog of long ago peering through my grandmother's back door... Seafood cooking: clusters of family lounging all over the place; birthday parties in a huge backyard (the first house I remember; there was room enough for a few oak trees and a massive old rose bush, and more of the same in the yards behind and to the sides of us)--also barbecues, swimming parties, goodness, we spent a lot of time in that yard^^ Coffee: vroom! Energizing, yet relaxing at night; have not gotten the hang of actually eating beans dipped in chocolate--yet. Good times with mom and sister, going to different bakeries and trying out pastries--getting them wrapped up to try at home with coffee brewed for the occasion. Or using baking mix to experiment. Messily^^ (and there's the cinnamon link, there. Also my own milk-and-ginger creation for nausea: cup of milk, heated in microwave, blended with a mix of sugar, a dash of cinnamon and one-fourth teaspoon of ground ginger--they need to be well-mixed, or the ginger and cinnamon will just float on top of the milk--separate cups for that! Wet into dry, slowly! Enjoy. If you want more cinnamon or ginger, adjust for taste--but remember they're actually *hot* spices!)
...my, I seem to have done the meme, haven't I? Never mind the poking, then^^ *moseys off to bed*
