Jun. 27th, 2007 01:04 amBookstore run! My goal: Pick up YGO Duelist #21. Which I kind of missed coming out in the whole mistaken HP thing? ^^;
Browsing the shelves is always fun, but has very rarely been this productive. At first I was going to get this lovely leather-bound collection of all the Sherlock Holmes stories. What with one of my paperbacks having split down the spine. It is dead, but I will not let go of it until I have a replacement! Also there was an interesting little guide to Sherlock Holmes, with facts about Victorian London and such.
Well, I'll have to go back for those. Because I found the most gorgeous book by the Smithsonian, a guide to rocks and minerals? Just flipping through the pages, it was like being in a museum. It brought my NaNo, and all the stories connected to it, so vividly to mind. So. Not having enough money for everything, I struggled with that decision for oh, maybe a whole minute - which actually says something about my love of S.H., since that really should not have been a decision.
Then to the counter! To pay for my YGO and Smithsonian book (more connected to each other than you might think) and get a coffee. And off to home, where I noticed for the first time that being really happy causes me to speed a little bit. I thought that only happened when I was ticked off.
End result, after floundering through the chaos that is a NaNo and finding my place again: 1,262 words and I know where I'm going again. ^_^
Now for break, and lunch, and reading. eeeeeee, reading. Then there are all the little cleaning things I need to do before this morning's goal of going downtown to college. Plus stopping whenever I might feel like another stab the NaNo, working titled 'Lost Hours'.
