The Tombs of Raithwall
Valley of the Dead
oh.my.god. Pretty!! Well, pretty in the sense that I like, actually rather intimidating and convoluted in appearance. As befits a tomb, it says Stay Out.
Like that's going to stop us. >:D
But I'm standing there, with Fran framed in the entrance before a massive row of colonnades. Like something out of old Rome, or Egypt. (And Egypt comes to mind strongly simply because I've been on a stronger-than-usual Egypt kick. And we're tomb-robbing, here.) I wish I could screen cap this. I want that for an icon.

HOLY CRAP!!! O.O
Garuda = Death From Above. Now I'm very, very glad that I was warned to level up, and that I've been saving up my Quickenings, and that I had those Eskir berries. XD Because if I had missed any one of those, I would have been torn apart. o.o
...at least this wasn't like the Flan, though. The Eskir berries warn you in their description, your fellow Sandsea travelers warn you - and I've never run across a Garuda of any stripe that could be called easy prey.
And! Interesting description of Ashe's lineage. King chosen by the gods, eh? ...nah, nothing remotely similar to Egypt. (Though certain muse-voices are insisting that this makes Archadia and Rozarria the Two Lands, which someone in this party will have to unite. XD )
Meanwhile, geez Balthier! Enough with the charmingly cocky ;p

I have to admit, in spite of my own preoccupations? Design here feels far more Indian than anything.

*sigh* Demon Wall got me. (squeee! Demon Wall! The last time I saw one of those it was all pixelly!) And of course, I didn't save immediately after the Garuda. ooops

I hate Demon Walls. I want to rob that tomb, darnit! How dare he have such deadly guardians?! >:P
XD Sheesh, I'll go knock off a few Marks and see where that gets me. When I wake up. zzzzzzzzz
ETA: After the helpful researching of spoiler-free tips by the Lacey, Demon Wall is down! And now I can rest easy, knowing that I will not have to watch my poor characters get smushed by a giant wall again.
Meanwhile, I note that I am completely crushing on Fran: you know? it's kind of hot when Fran sticks an arrow between her teeth and flicks her hair back after a boss battle
*purrs self to sleep*
