Shusu, you shouldn't have reminded me! Okay, not really, I'd been planning on going shopping prior to that. ^^;
So I get off work last night-early in the morning, as far as actual time goes, but who pays attention to the sun and stuff, right? I went to the bank to get some stuff done, found that no problem. << It was then 8-ish. Couple of minutes, I can't really remember. But the bank opens at 9. Really, I should have stayed and waited for them to open. I had a book and everything! However, I am a moron, and choose to go ahead and head to the mall. Yay, mall! ^^
It occured to me that the mall might not be open either, but I figured the time that passed driving there would leave it that much closer, and I could wait there. Then come back to the bank to take care of things.
So I am cleverly making my way toward home, and enjoying the nice overcast day, as I've always loved rainy days and this was the prettiest sort of gray that highlights what little fall-color we get in our trees. All relaxed, if tired from work. And get a tiny bit lost on the way back from the bank, due to not taking my usual exit from that parking lot. But I find the right road, and all is well, yes?
This is where I decide to get adventurous. Surely, I reason, since the road I need is to my right, (but further back down Lane Ave.) then this on-ramp, which is also to my right, will head me in roughly the same direction? ^^;;; At this point I should like to remind all that I have no natural sense of direction. Or is that no sense?
Eart 10? Does not go the same way as I-95. Right now I couldn't even tell you if I go north or south on I-95, but whichever, East 10 isn't it. X.X
So, about an hour of driving and driving and driving down loooong roads in the middle of nowhere. My one consolation this go round is that it was a pretty middle of nowhere on a pretty day. I love rainy days. And, eventually, I come to a sign that says 'Now entering Nassau County'. X.X I live in Duval. I'm panicking for a moment, thinking random stuff like 'How long before I leave the state?' and then 'Wait, is Nassau in the other direction? Maybe i'll hit the Everglades?'
Note there is no way that would have happened. I think I'd still be driving, to get that far downstate. *sighs*
Fortunately, I choose the right turn from my options, and maybe 5 mintues later come to a sign saying 'Now entering Duval County'. Yay, for I am in the right general area! x.x Many winding roads. Narrow and scary and x.x and I finally come to - wait for it- !@#$%^& East 10 again. Out of a complete lack of other options, and the hope that maybe this time I am heading in the opposite direction of where I started, I get back on. And almost miss a ramp that leads from my narrow winding entrance to *cue harp music* Orange Park! ^^;; Finally! The way to the mall is before me, and I am happy, for I get to go shopping and then home!
^_^ And I was very... er-driverly? On the interstate. *nods* I was not a chicken and did not wait forever to merge and stuff! Is much less scary of you're paying attention to going very fast, instead of to being scared. 80 mph, yay! ^_^
And I got a couple of dvds, which I hope to borrow Dad's player to watch, and all was well.
The End!
