Jan. 7th, 2004 10:22 pmSpent most of last night finally watching the extended version of The Fellowship. ^_^ This was good for keeping my arm still! << Now, it has lessened into annoyingly stiff and somewhat painful? Not as bad as it was, that's for sure.
Sooo.. had a feeling that I was heading into a nice little surge of creativity?
Creativity, yes. Focus, no.
Rushing fragments of everything i've ever tried to make an alternate history for, at first. I managed to restore some focus, at least enough for only two major things and little 'ghost' fragments from others... probably should explain what that means, to me. 'Ghost' = a picture, just a picture, with emotional context adhering to it or the vaugest sense of a character's personality, which will occasionally pop and give these pictures.
This has some relevance, as one of the two things bothering at me is Samurai Troopers.
Setup is -first Rajura gets to Shuu. At some point (simultaneous? not too long after? ???) Anubis captures/gets to Seiji... too foggy, there, I'm not entirely sure what happens except that Seiji seems to feel he has grounds to be smug> O.o Worth noting that Seiji-as-Masho seems to have let his ego run rampant.
Anyway... it's Shuu who kills Shin, Touma and Ryo. This was the very first image, way way back when this whole thing first occured to me. Ryo in subarmor, arms up to try and block some blow from Shuu, screaming at him something typical, some 'why are you doing this?!' and me watching this image unfold, thinking 'Oh, I know why. Spider boy got to him, that's why!' o.o Then the inevitable moment of 'Ah...wait, wait... where are Shin and Touma and ...Seiji?!' cue the initial rushing of ideas, and I.O.Me one buttkicking for not writing everything down then, except I didn't understand then that it was a rush and not going to fade, and that I needed to catch things as they came.
Kaosu... I think actually dies... but here's the thing: it was so Byuken could get out of the city with Jun and Nasuti. That Jun is the one who inherents the staff, and later on comes in contact with the reincarnate Troopers. Which is actually a very wierd situation, and I would think he'd be freaked out by it... but then, he's going to have a loong time to settle in to his new role, and then there's the fact that he heldup incredibly well under the whole war in canon. Sure, at first he annoyed the crap out of me -but this was way back when, and though I wouldn't have believed it, I was really kind of a kid myself. Having nephews and nieces ranging from 5 to 1 now... I kind of doubt most kids would have behaved that well. I mean, he throws one, one I Hate You Fit? One?! He's 9?! No way, no how, I threw more fits than that at that age, and I was never in a war, with my parents gone and total strangers taking care of me. Okay, i'd kind of hope i'd've behaved myself better if I'd ever been in any similar situation, but... kind of doubt it.
Nevermind the fact I've always thought it was odd that he and Nasuti were the only ones who avoided the soldiers, and does Nasuti count? In that sense.. to me, it felt like she had come in after the main kidnapping force had already left.
Rajura... especially last night, was bothered by this sense that he is manipulating the other Masho, especially in picking at Seiji and Anubis, not letting them come to any sort of peace. He's.... well, for one thing, and I don't think I can stress this enough -I Am Aracniphobic. Such that Rajura is a ghost, as explained above, and I don't think it's really him. I think he would be perfectly thrilled to talk to me and go about his business of manipulating everyone in bloody creation, except everytime I try to sit down seriously and write him, I get this... funny numb feeling? Like, that part of my brain where the aracniphobia is stored is reaching out to try and shut down the rest of it. Sort of an involuntary-reflex, 'La-la-la-la, I can't hear you' response, and instead of the words I am trying to reach, I get lovely images of spiders and end up so creeped out I can't stand myself and I stop trying. << Noting that I have now gone on and on and on about this... must stop reacting like this...
Okay, off the topic of Rajura, will learn how to cope with the spider problem ...later.
Shuu... is actually pretty good at being Masho? He keeps telling me something about having gone to that area where Kubla Khan had once reigned, and people thinking he was Khan, and he thinks this is freaking hilarious. << He gloats too much, this is a definite. In as much as the Masho get along, really gets along well with Anubis and Naaza. I swear, the tenor there is that of drinking buddies, which is ...kind of funny, really.
Shuten. Ai ai ai. Business-man, he is, and ...let's see, what's the best word to describe the businesses? Hedonistic? I get the impression that it's worse at first, time just after the Troopers fall and things are being set up; but as the years go by and the world is conquered and things settle down, he starts, well... promoting the arts, really. And literature. And has possibly the most stable/prosperous area on the planet and I'm pretty sure Arago doesn't entirely approve of what he does know about and really wouldn't some of the things he doesn't, which Shuten intends he never, ever find out about. Interesting that Shuten insists this is all for his own selfish reasons because he wants his comforts and his books, damnit! Makes me wonder if he realizes this is classic villian in denial that he's really a hero. :D
But see, here's where the definition of 'ghost' really becomes relevant. Image last night of Shuten being ragged on by the other Masho -because the bearer of Tenku was right under his nose and he didn't see. I question why this is, I get flashback within the scene from Shuten. Something he is not about to tell the other Masho, much less Arago, but it's worse than even they think - he recognizes the bearer of Tenku (the Masho don't realize the reincarnation thing? something else I didn't know...) from.... eh. Why do I always get stupid-shy about typing this sort of thing. He was visiting a... okay, now I can't think of a word that doesn't sound either vulgar or censored-type stupid. Brothel? >:p this entire part of this paragraph. Now since the idea is gotten - he was there, and so was the boy he didn't realize is Tenku's bearer. Whom he noticed as being rather cute, only for some reason nothing happened between them. Which is a damn good thing, really, as I don't think he could have missed it if they'd been that close to each other. <<;;;
Which is when a 'ghost' of Touma pops up, and the image shifts from Shuten's pov to his. Noticing that the evil Masho is cute, yes, but must remember that he's still just as evil as the rest of them and should be killed, for which reason he got out of there lest the evil demon sense his intentions. O.o I died at this at this point, really did. XD And when I recovered myself from laughing, I tried to get him to talk to me, I mean for crying out loud he's practically in the position of being a spy! And I wanted to know how he ended up there and -everything! No good, though. At least for words? Other images, though. Touma growing up in some other area, always unhappy with nothing to occupy his mind. Image of a farm, and his sneaking out at night to watch the stars, and not understanding why. Of a bar of some sort, talking with traders who occasionally came through, and a barn and overhearing someone mention Shuten's area. Cart coming by where he's hidden on a dusty road, and he hitches a ride. Marketplaces, villages... wandering until he comes to that place which eventually leads to his near-meeting with Shuten, and there hearing about the library Shuten's supposed to have. Ssssh, for it contains many books which are not inherently evil, but rather history and science and... good lord, waitaminute. Aggravating that things come up as i'm typing, but I'm only now getting the dimensions of this thing... O.O I think he might have a small city hidden, here. And it freaking well better be well hidden, or when he turns it's going too be destroyed and there goes most of Earth's history what's not being preserved in oral tradtions - and I know those are flawed, for sheer fact of people trying to preserve thier own tradtions getting killed off by various demons and the Masho.... X.x crap need to do something about that....
But, Touma's reaction = *.* must have books, for they contain knowledge! Knowledge will lead to understanding why he has to stare at the stars all a' the time, surely! << ... ... ...even without the implications of everything else he's doing, I think Shuten did a baaad thing, here. Far as evil is concerned. I mean... wakey, wakey Tenku! Time ta come out and pla~ay! XD *note to self-is that The Accent sneaking in? Because there's no way he would have that accent...*
Now, wait a minute.... what is being implied here is that they're spread out, isn't it? That the Masho have areas they're ruling, over the entire planet.... hmmm. How long does it take to teleport from one place to the other? Need a map, so's to figure out who is where... Shin?
O.o Okay, Shin, shut up. You cannot take over Tokyo, or whatever they might be calling the city now. You'd need an army, or something, and you don't have that kind of manpower. You just don't.
Shin: Give me enough time, and I certainly will. Then we could see how they like being outnumbered? *smile that is entirely too happy in its vicious-ness*
It's not happening! Not ever!
Shin: *sulk*
Yeah. Shin is carrying issues from being killed in the last life. Seriously po'd about that, and I don't much blame him - but - if he doesn't watch it, he'll end up on the Dark Side anyway. *waves hand in front of his face* Hello in there, bloodlust in an inherently bad thing, you know! *is glared at* Need Ryo or Touma to bitchslap some sense into him, really I do.Also, I need to get him to calm down so he can tell me where he was born in this incarnation, and how he came to -oh. Dreams of the past, and Naaza... discontent woul be a given under demon rule, but no one in that area really wanted to do anything about it. Pacifists, farmers, high wooded hills with small plains in them? I don't know this landscape, even if it's possible to have that sort of setup...
He was hunting. So was Naaza. For distinctly different purposes. And he might have gone on thinking the dreams weren't important, they couldn't mean anything like what he suspected, they just couldn't (denial much?) except - he heard Naaza laughing, and he recognized that laugh, he knew that voice and he followed, and he saw... he doesn't want to say what. Except he saw red, in both the metaphorical and literal senses, and he... damn. Red haze and trying to block the memory, but I think he tried to attack Naaza. Stupid, stupid kid with no training, just managing to summon the yoroi - I think he got tore up. Bad. And ... it was Jun saved him? Carefully, made it look like Naaza's own attack triggered an avalanche. o.o Ooookay. This is just... creepy. Jun is creeped by the change in Shin. I am creeped out by this entire image, but at least I have an idea where he came from? O.o;;
Naaza would like to point out that he was po'd at the ruin of a perfectly good day ...hunting (x.x) , and how dare the rodent show up then. And he is saying this as if I should be upset on his behalf... ookay. *pets* You do know you're insane, yes? *a nod and evvil smirk* 'K, just checking.
Yikes... it just hit me the only one I don't have some idea of now is Ryo. << *looks about* >> Where a~rrr~e y~~ou?
*is exhausted* Now, I'm half tempted to break my resolution about waiting until I have all the dvds before I start watching them... But I can't! I only need *thinks* 3 more! Then I will start watching and thereby trying to write.... <<;;; Maybe ye olde scratchy vcr tapes? This is my own fault for getting myself worked up, but darnit! I can't find the notebook! I need that notebook!
I neeed to move my room from 'piles ready to be properly labeled/organized ' to 'actual orginization'... and do so on the one remaining day of my weekend, as cleaning doesn't really happen on week/work days. x.x

Date: 2004-01-08 02:46 pm (UTC)Small city destroyed? Have you considered a hidden temple? Xiaolin style?
You do need a map. Look at the Trooper birthplaces (listed at Theria's) and where they are now (such as Ryo going to high school in Tokyo, and Shin getting an apartment in Tokyo too. Shuu remains in Yokohama, which is equivalent of a sister city to Tokyo proper.) Once you map 'em out, they're all over wildly different parts of Japan, and to my mind that accounts for their different attitudes.
One of the things I noted about Touma in canon is that Tenku is the most independent of the armors. In the rescue-from-space ep, my favorite, Tenku can be seen (even in the dub which inserts Rowen speech that isn't there) taking over the controls. Touma in the series is clearly not flying this thing, even at the end when he's battling Kayura. In the audio cassette deals, after the series, he learns how.
Actually you need to read those transcripts, which should be linked at the bottom of
Long story short, that's why I've advanced my general Blue Boys universes to have Tenku and Yami soul-switch (and thus save Kujuurou's mortal soul.) I made it so Tenku is somehow more loosely bound to Touma, and at one point I had Touma detaching from Tenku and talking to the empty armor. (Which freaked out the other Ronins. But then, the Blue Boy pairing Always freaks the other Ronins.)
Re: also incomplete response
Date: 2004-01-08 06:21 pm (UTC)And of course it freaks out the other Ronins! What, they didn't go through the whole 'what if the armor is inherently evil and I am screwed by default?' angst? << Should not want to lmao at this, really I shouldn't...
