Only about a hundred things running through my head, that I know I will never remember.

The virus-that-Dad-wouldn't-to-me-about is now off the computer! >:) And I only had to reinstal AOL and ...there are probably other things missing that I haven't noticed yet? But everything seems to be running okay. :D

Meanwhile, started on the Otherland books a few nights ago. I don't know if I'm reading faster than usual, or if it;s just the transition from having been reading Tale of Genji for so long. It's not that much longer than anything I've ever read, but there's something about that makes you slow down. ...I may end up trying to find a copy just to read for slowing down/relaxing.

What's weird about reading Otherland now, though... for one thing, it's the first time reading the four straight through, where I started reading them when... I think there was only the second book out. So now I know everything, and I'm catching foreshadowing and things. Nevermind this one scene that is such an echo of LoTR and I didn't even realize.

Crouched on a road with something evil hunting you.

Yugioh characters reading over my shoulder. Namely, Seto Kaiba and Duke Devlin. <<

Because of the hacking stuff, mostly. Seto's interested in the coporations and the intrigue going on between members of the Brotherhood.

..Duke wants to go live in TreeHouse, the outlaw node which is the last refuge of the truly great hackers and anarchists. *rolling eyes* Oh boy does he want to go there. 'It's only the coolest place ever!'

Seto: They're a bunch of geeks and losers who gave up control of something most of them helped create in the first place.

Duke: :p Some of us aren't control freaks, Kaiba.

Seto: You mean, they're utterly lacking in amibition or backbone. *smirk* Or maybe they've just gotten too old.

Duke: *narrowed eyes and wishing he could sic the littlest TreeHouse kids on this jerk* They used to be our age, you know.

Seto: *blinking as if this thought had literally not occured to him. Ever.*

They are, of course, both insane.

Girlfriend. I remember seeing a ficbit somewhere but of course it didn't mean anything at the time, except pretty and interesting and eeep, Kayura!

Now very eeep.

Tad Williams! It's cute, he dedicates the book to his Dad, then says that since his Dad doesn't read science fiction, he'll never know he's had a book dedicated to him - and continues the saga of his Dad's not-knowing through the rest of the books. ...I don't remember if he ever found out!
