Dec. 25th, 2003 08:19 pmMisadventure in Driving, yesterday. But this one wasn't my fault! My sister had a kid-size playhouse on hold, and I was to go and purchase so as to get my employee discount on it. Sssshh!
Only, she told me to get off 2-95 on Exit 17. It is not labeled as such, except in teeny tiny letters; it is 'Roosevelt Park'. So I drove right past it. Over the bridge which I never remember the name, despite having gone over it many times in past Misadventures. XD I mean, I know exactly how to get off this thing, turn around and head back, with the least amount of being caught in traffic, now.
So, seeing as I headed out there straight after work, and I was already tired, I told her 'Forget this, look: I know where you are, you know where it is - I will come to you and you will take me there.' And we did. and the playhouse was secured, yay! ^^;; Straight home from there, collapse.
Get up and try to start doing stuff, only I was still sleepy. But had fun talking to Christina , and then when I did get off, wrapped presents and watched the League of Extraordinary Gentlemen. Which is a fun movie. ^^;
Only at 7 in the morning do I learn that I will need to be up at 1 to leave for sis's house and Christmas - lunch? x.x Ended up actually leaving the house at nearly 3. x.x Am sooo sleepy, but have to be in at work at 12. Stupid break packs that cannot put themselves up. Might try to duck out early after those are done, though. They want us to stay until, I think it's 7 or 8? Ha!
But! It has all been worth it, for there was much cuteness from the nieces and nephews. ^__^ Jonathan and Ashlin are sick, poor things. :( But the toys cheered them up, and I dragged my video game out there because that is what Aunty does, plays video games for them to watch, and I haven't in forever. And there was tasty ham and greens and deviled eggs and things! And the sis sent us home with a pecan pie and a pumpkin one, all for me and Dad! ^^
Presents! I got the new Wheel of Time book from Christina, and a very cute frog bookmark, some sort of soft green material-stuff with the frog in silver. :D It's in my copy of When True Night Falls, right now.
And, I finally have Xenosaga! :D I don't know how Dad found it, i've been looking for awhile now. But I will finally, finally get to play it!
And I have realized I have a problem. Namely, I hate to stop reading/playing any game in the middle of it. It will bug me until I go back to the item in question and start over from the beginning. O.o I don't know why - but it means I have to finish the Coldfire Trilogy and get the 2nd ending for Kingdom Hearts, before I can start enjoying my presents!
Have managed to make entry without it all being netspeak, however. 'Cept this last part - *goes for nice nap before work*
