Nov. 15th, 2005 09:24 amThere is a YuGiOh bunny that is driving me insane. This would bother me if working on it the past few afternoons hadn't been one of the most enjoyable things I've done lately.
...the Ryou/Yugi shonen-ai uber-fluffy get a bloody room already cuteness? Still bothering me. Reincarnated mortal enemies should not be like that, especially in a fic in which Yugi is doomed. XD
Meanwhile, my head is full of all sorts of musings that refuse to reach a state where they'd be interesting. Random fuzzy thoughts like, "Huh. Mom and Dad really really wanted a boy, and had to wait seven years after they'd got me before they got one. Six years after sis. ...I wonder if maybe they treated us a little bit more like boys than they would have otherwise. What with the insistance that we be tough and not-cry and hrrrm. Not to self: kick parents for possible subconscious stupidity."
Also in this vien - I like earnest characters, if they're pulled off properly. Which I'll admit is hard to do, but when it works? ♥ Mostly because I tend to be earnest, and then get burned and kind of shrivel... it occured to me, with Naruto? I thought I was cringing because I was waiting to be annoyed, but it's sympathy - he is so, so painfully earnest and keeps getting burned and then bouncing back up. Also Vinnie, of Battle Bdaman? Incredibly earnest, happy go lucky little spaz. Works as announcer for tournaments of the game which the show is about. (Nominally - it's more about the friendships of the unbelieveablygay cute characters of the show ;p ) He is in that job because he loves the game!! And wants to tell the world about it, loudly! :DDD
I'd like to be Vinnie when I grow up ;p Imagine, professionally fanboying - or in my case, girling. Best. Job. Evar. *.*
The flip side being that if it isn't pulled off right, it annoys the freaking heck out of me. >:p
Ended up buying some cards today, hoping to find the Change of Heart. What I got was Lady of Faith. I repeat : Lady of Faith. Needless to say, I am not displeased with this. >:)
Right now, however, I am bored yet hyper. So. Memeage! :D
List seven songs you are into right now. No matter what the genre, whether they have words, or even if they're any good, but they must be songs you're really enjoying now. Post these instructions in your Livejournal along with your seven songs. Then tag seven other people to see what they're listening to...
Rather influnced by the fact that YuGiOh is completing it's run, which is both incredibly fun and somewhat depressing - I love this show, and damn near every character in it, and this. This is the swan-song, which will in all likelihood end badly for at least one of my favorites. I keep avoiding that thought, though - and there is still the manga, and the differances between the two?
I really want to see what happens, manga-wise, when the Pharaoh learns what happened at Kuru Eruna. A lot of my opinion of that character is going to depend on how he reacts. ...and I was meme-ing, wasn't I? ^^;
1. Godsmack - Voodoo (for some reason I am in a really creepy/horror-storys mood right now. Oh wait, part of that's the bunny! *hunts for that Lovecraft book* ) Demons ~ dreamin', breathe in, breathe in ~ ~ I'm comin' back again
2. Foo Fighters - DOA (energy/fighting music!) No one's getting out of here alive, this time!
3. Scarlet Pimpernel, musical's soundtrack - Falcon In The Dive (for some reason, this strikes me as a Ryou vs Bakura song...) Let my heart grow colder, and as bitter as a falcon in the dive
4. Faith and the Muse - Chorus of the Furies (again, with the creepy - but drama and battles and magical-ceremonies, or should that be magical ceremonies leading into battles?)
5. Annie - Greatest Hit (the Anzu/Yugi/Pharaoh song, for me. ^_^ ) Come out fighting, you're my greatest hit
6. Corrine May - Free (this is just... positive energy) Help me to see, everything fall into place
7. Voltaire - The USS Make Shit Up (and this is just crack. Star Trek crack.) Set up a neutrino field inside a can of peas, hold on to Geordie's visor and sing into Data's knee!
First lines of works in progress:
The bus rolled to a stop on a street that was mostly empty.
The sound of weapons clashing is so familiar in his dreams that normally he wouldn't even have noticed.
He stood by the windows, watching the second moon as it rose to join the first.
Feeling very much like revisiting everything I've ever tried to write - so many stories whispering fragments, but considering I'm about to start on re-reading the second book of the Coldfire Trilogy (which is also the one that kills me) I'm betting it's that which is going to get me.
