I am a dork, I hope you realize. It's probably a little bean with words already written on it. But it's supposed to flower in about two months, and then I'll be able to figure out what kind of plant it is! ...assuming it survives my cat that long. If I can figure out how to get a nice focus on it, I'll be keeping a photographic record of its progress. ^^;
I was playing with the various settings, mostly auto-this and that. But auto doesn't seem to focus on blues so well, unless there's a really sharp contrast behind it. Also, anything shiny kills it dead. So I've tried using manual for those things... Unfortunately, my hands don't seem to be very steady. Which is maybe, at least partly, the constant lack of sleep - yeah, I've been staying up too late. A lot.
It still worries me. I should be able to hold the camera steady, shouldn't I?
Work. I thought the high point of my night was goiing to be this guy, who was excited and flustered about this girl he met while shopping in the store. Normally it puts me off when a total stranger starts rambling on at me, but he was so very excited, and clearly not paying that much attention to me per se, so much as there was someone to talk to and ooh boy! :D Should I go talk to her or should or ah um @.@
I ought to mention he was also buying diapers and other kiddie-stuff?
So I'm standing there listening for several minutes while he goes on and on, at one point mentioning that I am totally his cover so he doesn't go over there while she's still in line and end up looking like a dork? Okay? And I agreed, because what was I going to do, chase him off? XD There's something adorable about a grown man acting like a boy. A really excited boy. Eventually, he announces she's leaving, and shakes my hand and I wish him good luck! There is crossing of the fingers, and me peering through a gap in one of the displays behind (he had a good two feet on me, so he could see over the registar. I have to find ways around it ;p ) to see what happens. There is talking and exchanging of slips of paper, yay! :D Good luck, Mr. Really Friendly Happy Guy and The Lady He Just Met!
XD I wish more things like that happened at work, you know?
But the high point was really this :

And now I have one! ^___^ *is giddy-happy and scares her co-workers the rest of the night*
Eeee, and then I came home and Yu-Gi-Oh was hott. No, I mean that literally. My two favorite guys, and one of them was making with the outright smex, if he isn't soaking wet and panting in the one scene, in the next, he is mocking an enemy while standing over him with his legs parted, over the guy's face no less! XD ( And I've been waiting for that scene, because I am silly and eat up spoilers, sometimes. >>; ) :D~
And the other is making with the drama and the morally questionable decisions and the shiny/crazy eyes. And apparently now has a love-interest, whom I have also ben waiting to see. Still with holding judgement, as she didn't even regain consciousness this episode. >.> Also, I have no manga with her in, yet. So. *twiddles thumbs and blinks at the new female character*
...I will say that so far, I have liked all of the Yu-Gi-Oh girls? I've not seen one yet that is a really flat character, or anything - Takahashi seems to go in for the emotionally strong girls, who're willing to throw down with the boys when things get out of hand - Mai and Jounouchi, and any conversation between them. Anzu, who is there the most, I could site arguments with every single guy there (but then Anzu can be a bit punchy ;p ). Isis and going after her brothers, and even the tiny bit of manga of Battle City that I've gotten thus far, ♥ ! I am so looking forward to seeing her actually conversing with them! "Rar what do you think you're doing, trying to take down the Pharaoh! >:o "
Meanwhile, Dusky comes in to investigate my picture taking.

Manual focus, no flash, set on the floor before I hit the button. @.@ I need to start carrying the camera with me. And it's mini-tripod.
