So Yuletide reveals are out I hear! And somehow I find I don't care that much. Yesss, we are in the 'all is grief and sorrow' time of the month. Yuck.

Ignoring that! Because I will be happy about something, dammit.

Like Surrendering The Picture of Dorian Gray, for wilde_shade. This fic caused me to look at the canon in a way I hadn't before, and um. I rather hate them all. XD I like Oscar Wilde's prose, and there are some moments, but mostly? I want to shake poor Basil very hard, or maybe send him to a therapist - and he's the one I like most! Mostly it's that I have a problem with the basic tenet of the aesthetic movement as it comes across in the text - that thing of art for art's sake and not drawing from or expressing one's own life and views in art? That Basil rants so passionately about in the beginning of the book?

You, sir, are a hypocrite! As was your author. :P

That said, I had a surprising amount of fun, for all it was frustrating to write. And I managed to meet the Yule-chat challenge of inserting tentacles without breaking the canon! :D ...also, it was mentioned at least twice while I was in chat, and I had to be all with the :x. 'Tentacles? In a Dorian Gray fic? You don't say. '

That's never happened to me before. XD

Ink 9 for Dejana Talis. A tiny drabble written during Madness. I don't think I've gotten their voices right, and I may end up coming back to this, but for what it is I like it. And I had fun trying, though all I had for referance was the movie trailer. (Darn you, 9, for not coming out until after Christmas!)

In The Witch's Castle The Last Unicorn for Sandlion (FireEye). Another tiny drabble, because it tugged at my mind and drew out something I never thought of before - Molly (if I remember correctly) is pretty much unaffected by everything while they're staying in Haggard's awful little witch castle.

Molly knows Mama Fortuna's song. There's something really rather creepy about that, in kind of a good way. I mean. Since I don't tend to assume witch = bad unless something in the text has already made it clear that this one is a bad witch.
