and because i am happy and silly and goofy and... gah -makes down arrow motion- quiz!

For each fandom, without reusing characters, who was the character that you most...

Identify with?

lotr- Faramir. because his dad loved his brother more, even though Faramir was more like him. eh-don't ask; mine's actually gotten better.

hp- Ron. i have a thing for the guys that get overlooked, at least within the stories. all those brothers - ouch. and then Harry comes along, and he's thrown into another shadow- waah!

Lusted over?

lotr- Legolas, naturally. and Gandalf, because he's Maia, and -i reasoned- could choose a different appearance, and is intelligent. (although i always though he could have seen through Saruman just a little faster. stupid plot device.)

hp- Snape. intelligence! the most important character trait. and he's a spy! too cool, reading him in the classes and imagining him at Death Eater meetings. wondering how one part of his life affected the other. ooo, and black eyes. black. (imagines, drooling.)

although Lupin is a close second. i loved Madam Pomfrey's first reaction to him, that -"we finally have a DADA who knows his remedies"

Hated or were thoroughly annoyed by?

lotr- Wormtounge. ewww! poor Eowyn. ...and by extension, Theoden, for not kicking him out whenever he first showed up.(or started acting funny... i'm not sure, come to think of it, if he just showed or up, or went off, got corrupted, and came back to work.)

hp- Scabbers/Wormtail- backstabbing little rotten son-of-a-b****! think i'm still a little upset with him? maybe? makes it awful, re-reading the books, too-i find myself thinking things like "hey, Ron, if the rat sucks that badly, why don't you just throw him out the window?" on the train to Hogwarts, etc. Dursleys rank a close second.

Adored in a platonic sense?

lotr- Sam. you stop and think about, everyone in the Fellowship is either royalty or up there on the social ladder of thier respective cultures. Sam, he's just Frodo's gardener, he's just along for the ride because he's Frodo's friend. and the fact that he is Frodo's friend, social position notwithstanding. and he's all :"what am i doing here? all these important people and events and i'm just nobody." (hugs Sam)

hp- darn, already used Ron. hmmm- Sirius Black. because i really, really wanted Harry to go live with him, and it was so sweet, him not being sure if Harry would want to. the only time i was really ticked off at Snape, when i read that the first time. actually caught myself yelling at the book, in the vein of "you stupid! he- Harry was going to get away from the Dursleys, you jerk! no one would ever have to read about them again!"

yes, i am a bit weird- but i'm a happy little weird-o today!
