gURL.comI took the "The Aura Color Personality" quiz on gURL.com
My aura is...
blue

Are you blue? No worries--having a blue aura does not condemn one to a life of sorrow. But those with blue auras are some of the most emotional people on the planet. Blues are quite sensitive to other people's feelings... Read more...

What color is your aura?

The plan, such as it was, was to get out to the beach to take spiffy photos and enjoy the beach.

The plan first ran aground on I-10, in the lovely stop and go traffic. x.x Wherein I wondered if I'd even know whether I'd passed my exit or not. I'm still not sure exactly where I screwed up on that account. What I do know is that I ended up downtown, at the Alltell Stadium. O.o;

It's that big building waaay over there!

Also located in the massive parking lot area of said stadium is Jacksonville's war memorial.

It's this slightly depressing thing right here. >.>

Actually, I'm still in super-fun-moody mode and had been lost for an hour and well. :(

But the quiet was nice, and the cold, and things creaking in the wind. ^^ Also some people had left flowers?

These were the nicest.
I didn't even notice they had fallen over until I was resizing the pictures.

Pretty yes?

Also pretty

Across from the memorial, a tiny decorative pond

Growing by the pond. ^^

We used to have some like this growing in Mom's tiny flower garden...

And ends!

So I got back on the road, what with the camera being full and all. >.> And ended up going in this huge circle for an hour, I kid you not, which ended with me back at the stadium. Insert cussing and tearful aggravation here, because by now the bookstore was about to open anyway, wasn't it? And what was the point of getting coffee I couldn't sit down and enjoy! And *angstannoyedupset*

*lightbulb* Why am I looking for the exit to 295 when I got here from the I-10?

Joy!!! Success! Knowing where I am, even! XD

And on to the bookstore, because darnit, I was awake! And it was going to be open by the time I reached it anyway!

I have never had a more successful book-run. *.*

Haul: Volume One of Hikaru no Go (because I am curious, and I have a thing for ghosts even though they scare me. I am noticing this seems to happen with things that scare me - I bury it and let it soak in/plant roots for awhile, and then things start growing. Not sure yet if that's a good thing.)
Space Opera - a collection of sci-fi stories about music, which I read long ago and couldn't find again for the longest.
Faery! - another collection, with an old story that I loved. Actually both books were borrowed and then I couldn't find my own copies. Wah!
Mirror Dance - Lois McMaster Bujold Actually it was the pure joy of finding this, coupled with the nostalgia of being in my favorite old bookstore, caused me to go hunting for the two collections. ^^

And so I thought of a meme!

You know how sometimes you read a really good story, but you didn't keep the book - maybe it was even a library book - and then you can't remember what it was called? Describe it. Then paste this, with a link to your own description, and invite others to do the same. Maybe we can help find out what the story was!

Mine was a libary book - something about a boy whose parents didn't seem to like him much. At least he thought so. They'd moved, I believe, and there was this carousel horse that wasn't quite, and he somehow ends up with a 'sister' from another dimension or timeline? She was speaking backwards, and... I just don't know. I know I kept holding the book up to mirrors to be able to read things, and the carousel horse was somehow her ticket home, and she invited him to come with her, but by then he'd learned to appreciate his parents or something.
