Everworld: Inside The Illusion. Our sole look at things from Senna's pov, and boy did I forget how crazy this girl is. Almost one-dimensional, and not because she isn't smart (though not as smart as she thinks she is) but... there's just no depth, no consideration of anything. She has the one idea, the one goal - Power! And you know, maybe mass destruction because she hates everyone due to abandonment issues because Mommy ditched her in the real world. And she might be more interesting if she weren't so petty and shallow that it makes her stupid. And by stupid, I also mean self-defeating - she keeps over-reaching herself during little trips of power-madness, then pulling back, but she's already wasted resources/shown her hand a bit early. x.x
Of course, there is the one scary thing - the focus of the band of heroes has been: Keep Everworld from getting into our world! Dragons and gods and such in the our world = the scary doom!
Senna's idea is - gets guns and psychos to wield them for me into Everworld, and rule it all! (What isn't destroyed, but of course she doesn't care about that. Also, there's no way she can keep up the male illusion she's provided these sexist/racist/crazed individuals in order to hook them in the first place, and when she slips they will kill her. But of course she can handle that, because she's Senna. *head.desk* )
It is interesting seeing how she picked each of them to play a role: David the hero, April the peacemaker, Christopher the clown but also irritant so they could never really become a group ( and squee at her irritation that he's started to grow as a person - she actually ponders finding some alcohol so she can try and drown the 'new and improved' Christopher. Ha!) and Jalil to figure everything out for her in a rational, 21 century sort of way because she is no mystic, she wants to know how things work.
Headachey meanwhile, and I'm not really sure why. I thought I was over the cold, yet I wake up with this? x.x And I'm realizing that I have no idea how to plan a vacation. >.> None.
But! The *insert cussing here* woman at work started in on me again, the other day, trying to demand that I talk to her and claiming that she had no idea why I wouldn't want to. And I grabbed a passing member of management and got her to get rid of the bitch. >:) And ranted a little bit about it. (I'm not sure which of us she was more incredulous/amused at, but I didn't much care because the ranting made me feel better. Also, she made the bitch leave, which was the important part!)
I have realized that there's no way I can manage to set aside $100 or even $50 from each paycheck, although I'd like to. Set that against my yearly review and raise of .40 cents which happened yesterday. Yay raise.

It's this series, can't remember how many books now - although I've only got two left! Author is K.A. Applegate. Basically, these kids get snatched across an interdimensional divide and then have to deal with all the crap that's going on in the Happy Retirement Universe of the Gods! Also referred to by less flattering names, because you know all the old gods/goddesses/mythical creatures of the past are not exactly human-friendly. And these are teenagers from Chicago's Lakeshore area we're talking about. 4 of them, and I think I have a better description somewhere else, but I am going to worry about that later, because it crashing time. zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
(ps, Senna doesn't count as one of the kids. Because she's crazy!!)
