So, anyone else's parents insane?

So Mom called and she's talking about going on vacation next year to Texas. with Grandma. And hinting that I should come.

Which might have been interesting, if she hadn't already said all of this while I was visiting.

On and on and on, and then she's talking about the pictures, and in a cutesy teasing voice says she thinks she sees a couple of pictures with my friend in. I think, 'oh shit'

I say, "Oh shit."

My mom's response? Is to laugh. Instant pissed off on my end. She's trying to tell me it's only from the back, which told me she was wrong because shusu was always behind me while I was taking pictures - the only ones she was in were reflections off the bean-thing in Chicago.

But laughing? I told her, I asked quite politely considering I was already seething - that I wasn't supposed to share those pictures and if she was right, then I'd screwed up, so could we please not talk about it.

Did she have the sense not to go hammering at me? God no, she got all huffy and started telling me off about how it's natural for her to be curious and she's my Mom (I'm a fucking idiot and need these things explained, of course) and then in a threatening tone started on how some parents are a lot worse?

At which point I snapped "Still. Talking." and hung up on her. Because as if the repetition wasn't bad enough, this is the point where she screws up with me and my sis both - that little control-freak thing? That's the cut off point.

Okay. and with the snarling growling rage out of the way, a lot of which was taken out mopping the kitchen floor? I mean, my hands felt raw and I didn't even notice until I backed out of the room and sat down to type.

..erm. Where was I going? Oh, oh yeah!
