yesterday, day one of me-watching-midgies:
3 attempted suicides by swallowing of marbles prevented. (why does he think they're food?!)
me looking for poisnous cleaning products, to discover sis was ahead of me and already had them in a top cabinet.
me discoverng that the ability to toss a plastic sword in the air and catch it is the coolest thing ever, as they both stopped and stared at me. it was so precious, the look on thier faces! :) and they both kept trying to do that, and dropping thier swords everywhere... lol!
day two, so far: had to send Jonathan (2) to thier room because he wouldn't stop with eating the marbles. i mean, it's one thing when he just goofs off and comes back to marble-eating; it's another when he glares at me and pops one into his mouth.
and this is forcing Jonathan to try and talk better, as he's been at that stage where he knows words, but would rather not use them if he can point at something and get it. he got stumped because he wanted to say he things about his mommy, i.e. 'i miss her' and 'i want mommy home' and couldn't figure it out. he was staring at me and pointing and saying 'mommy' and i knew what he wanted, but made like i didn't. so eventually he comes up with : 'hard mommy wait. bad. mommy back!'
i wanted to cry and laugh at the same time. it was so cute and sad! and i gave him a hug and everything, but i was also glad he had to try for a sentance instead of 'point equals gimmie!'.
they're supposed to go see Mommy and 'new baby sister' sometime when thier Grandma shows up. i'm still debating whether i want to go or not.
oh boy. YnM. following what seems to have set itself up a tradition in headspace for me; anybody new coming in adopts some old idea?
couple of years ago i picked up this little book about the Blue Willow pattern plates. illustrations, some information about the pattern's history, and the author's own version of the story told about this plate. it was an English folktale about China; it wasn't from any story told in China, though.
at the end of the book, the author tells about how he came up with his variation and challenges the reader to come up with thier own. i thought it would be neat to try, but nothing ever came of it.
guess where YnM went?.
it just started with Tatsumi casually mentioning where he lived and then claming up. and i thought this would work well with my trying to do more craft-things, see if i can't develop what artistic leanings i've got. so i'm (still) going to try and reproduce the Willow Pattern on paper, mixing different kinds of paper and things.
but. the rest of the cast objected to Tatsumi being so close-mouthed and started to pipe up as soon as i started making a rough sketch of the pattern to put notes on, like so:
line to indicate one of the pagodas behind the big house, swirly fat clouds and notes on colors=
Watari: oh, i live there! yes, and got myself killed doing research on demons, and am now stuck there until Tatsumi can find a way to free me. we were lovers while i was alive, so he has taken up my research. also because it is profitable, people buying protection charms and the like from him. that's his business now, and...
until i'd got the following members of the YnM cast involved: Tatsumi, Watari, Tsuzuki, Hisoka, Muraki, Oriya, Hijiri. (yes, Hijiri, and now he's an artist instead of a musician and his spirit ends up hanging around Oriya. why? because Muraki killed him and his being there annoys Muraki. (grins) )
and the whole thing wants to be a manga. it really does; i have some of the images in my head and everything, and what i'm probably going to end up doing is making a sitck figure outline and a script for this thing, in the hopes that i can get it done someday. like, find an artist who will do this (with/for?) me. and still make the plate/picture thing. maybe it could be the cover.
i am in love with the image of this plate in my head, all done in red shades and things. (hugs art project)
in the meantime, the whole mess has spawned a desire to go searching for images of pottery, wondering what other kinds of patterns there are and what kind of stories might come from them...
the boys will like seeing the pretty pictures too... hey you guys! (calls nephews)
