spokeSo when I tried to get online the morning of New Year's Eve, I find out the phone has been cut off.
Joy! Cue the panic attack and the guilt because I had plans, darnit, and people I meant to talk to, that I said I'd talk to, and AUGH! ;_;
So, to distract myself so that I wouldn't spend the whole night caught up in angst, I started cleaning... well, I meant to start cleaning my room. << Then I realized that I would first have to organize many things. >>
Slowly I begin to realize I have taken on a Herculean task that will actually take many days. Step One: Gather up all the various unlabeled tapes in my room, and in the little VHS cabinet outside of, and and all the little never-used labels. x.x
Done! Step Two: Pop tape into VCR, make note of show and each episode's title, fast forward to next ep, repeat. And again. And again. And, you get the picture.
Why do I have so many unlabeled tapes, you (probably don't) ask? ^^;;; Because there is a curse on me that prevents me properly recording anything. Oh, I didn't think so, at first: surely if I was careful and diligent, I could get my shows recorded, in the proper order, without ...problems.
List of 'problems' to date:
Mistaken programming of VCR
Forgetting to turn VCR off, so programming could kick in
Power outage due to storms
Poor reception
Mislabeling tapes so that I have two shows on one instead of keeping them seperate as I'd like, hence my not labeling them with the idea that if I had to check each time this wouldn't happen - it didn't work. x.x
Family members turning the VCR back on, so that even though I'd done everything right... thank goodness I have my own TV and VCR now, in my own room.
'We now interrupt this program to bring you an emergency weather report' (okay, must take a moment to laugh at my teenaged self for being truly po'd about that - like it would have mattered if we'd actually gotten a hurricane, and had to leave. XD )
Currently, for one thing I missed the first episodes of Shaman King - for another, the most charming reception problem has begun, and it-only-happens-during- Shaman King - the TV wants to flicker to a lovely blue screen. I have found a sort of solution? If I stand there with one hand on the side of the TV, it'll stay. I'm sure you can imagine the joy this brings me. >:/
Yugioh has its own curse, and though it hasn't show up for awhile, i'm sure it'll come back - the screen would flip to black and white and FUZZY, and the sound would drop to nothing. x.x
Where was I when I started babbling about the Curse? Oh yeah... but! I started on the great project of restoring order to my room? x.x
I need a trip to the mall, that's what I need... I will go window shopping, and get a coffee, and sit in the food court and read? << Though I have no idea when this will happen...
