May. 5th, 2005 08:42 pmSo I am sitting here with a rather disturbed cat on my lap. I think maybe the pain medicine they gave her is wearing off. <.<
Of the things I meant to accomplish yesterday, I managed.
1. Taking Dusky to the vet to be spayed. (Fixed! Operated upon! Rendered less female? And much less noisy, less likely to try and break out of the house, and definitely less prone to harassing my brother in the belief that anything male will do!)
2. Hunted down an air filter for my car, although I have not yet tried to install said.
3. Got to the bank.
4. Got out to the used bookstore, where I remained until about 11 something, wandering around the shelves.
And no, no Mirror Dance. :/ On the other hand, I found Good Omens? And I could use something humorous, so I'll probably start reading that later.
And during the whole thing, it was rainy, which was nice. I just like rain, it makes me feel calm and happy. Everything looks cleaner and colors seem clearer, especially greens, so that every plant seems to have its own distinct shade. And possibly I could have been more poetic, if I'd been able to write while driving. <.< But there is that pesky not getting myself in a wreck thing.
And there goes the Dusky, who has had enough of playing lap-kitty. When I went to pick her up this morning (afternoon for everyone else, but hey) the vet thought she might be sort of ...hiding? I laughed. This is Dusky, the psycho-kitty - the hyperactive, watch-me-run-into-walls-and-not-pause-to-breathe! kitty! ..it was a bit strange watching her walk backwards around the house, though. I think it's either the medicine or the plastic collar thing screwing with her - but I don't know if it's her sense of balance, or the plastic might be messing with her vision? Cats being more dependant on peripheral vision, and this thing is like a plastic cup with the small end around her neck. :/ It's a good thing though, it will keep her from biting and licking and taking out the stitches. x.x
So all the way home she's complaining and complaining. And about halfway there, getting kind of ticked off, because hey - she's putting in all this effort to mew me into letting her out, and she is getting nowhere. :P And I am thinking: >.< Ouch expensive. But! She is going to be healthier and live longer, and I have the good flea medicine too. ...I am a good mommy ^^
And feeling: My kitty is in pain! She's mewing and mewing and she hissed at me when I picked her up and she's going to hate me forever! I am a bad mommy. :(
It was reassuring when she made with the lap-kitty. ^^;
So many other things I wanted to put in this post, and I think I have notes somewhere? Because I knew I was going to forget things. But right now, I think the lack of sleep is catching up with me. Maybe after a nap. At some point.
>.< Laundry. *&%#@

Date: 2005-05-09 09:35 am (UTC)...wait, wait, was she, um, humping your brother's leg? Because *that* would have called for pictures, too! o.O
yes, after-rain time is happiness. During-rain time, too, when you've time to just sit or stand and look out of a window or screen door. (you need a laundry boychick^^)

Date: 2005-05-09 11:53 am (UTC)It is hilarious - although she's not doing it so much anymore? But it's not the being fixed! It's the headgear to prevent her cleaning herself and taking out the stitches. @.@ It's like a plastic cup with her neck caught in the small end, and it's driving her nuts. She can't clean her fur like she wants, although she's licking the daylights out of the cup. :/ I've been giving her extra brushing to try and help, but she is not happy with this thing.
And. XD That would have been sooo funny! And I don't know if male cats do that? I don't think I've ever seen a girl cat try it, though. They more sort of go around thier territories propositioning the male cats with this particular, drawn-out, awful mewing? "I'm heeeereeee! I neeeed a boyfrieeend!!" >.< I'm sure it sounds hott to the gentlemen cats, but to human ears it just sounds like the poor thing is in pain.
So she was following him around, and parking outside the door of his room, making with this meow. Constantly. XD And every so often, I'd hear him yelling, "Shut up cat!" and "I ain't your boyfriend!" and things. >:D Bwahaha!
^_^ And watching it make pretty ripples down the windows. (And many other kinds of boychicks as well ^^ )
