So. What I meant to talk about, when I got distracted by the spiders. x.x
I love the rain. I really, really do. And walking out to my car yesterday, I had to splash through the yard, with the rain pouring down, and I was just that tempted to call in. I didn't even realize it had been raining that much. I mean, I knew we had water standing in the ditches, but this.
Between me and my car, there is a tiny wooden 'bridge' and that term can only be applied in the strictest dictionary sense, in that it spans a gap between two spaces. Two spaces that one could normally jump over, no problem. This time, I put my foot on it? The whole thing bucks. It's come loose from the spots where it's wedged into the banks. So I walk all the way around, out of our yard and down the side of the road and up the dirt road that is now a small muddy river, in order to reach the car. Listening to the rain pouring and the sound of frogs, and really just wishing I could call in and walk around in the rain. It was so nice.
And then I had to work all night with my shoes and socks slowly drying. After I'd wrung out the socks. >.< Tonight I'll be wearing old shoes and stick my good ones in a bag, so I can change when I get to work.
But when I got home, everything looked clean and soaked through, and I was able to walk across the bridge - and startled a huge frog into jumping into the river - the sort of loud splash I'd have expected from a fish. I was even looking for one until I noticed the frog swimming to the other side. ^_^
I love rain.
