spoke: spider with a pen on a book (creative)
Really need to be working on the rp and Neville's schedule.

Really.

Instead, I am consumed with an urge to draw.

I have not been making half the progress i'd like in this. But I have been sticking at it, and a few things i've noticed so far:

I really suck at drawing people. But not so much at animals, if A) I have a referance to draw from and B) I don't try for realism.

I have no idea what to call what i'm doing when I get something to where I like it (DARN my utter lack of formal, collegy-type training; at least then i'd know the words to describe things properly! ;p) but I'm beginning to recognize a certain amount of similarity between the things I do like. XD Augh, i'm stumbling around in the dark, here.

Also I like to make little patterns. And on the subject of size, the smaller I try to make something, the easier it is to get it 'right'. (Ellipses due to the above-mentioned and possibly warped idea of right. Again, ;p) But I want to do larger version of these things. Fortunately, I have thought of a solution: I will just draw tinies of a whole mess of subjects, fruits, dragons, frogs, etc and then I will scan them! Ha! And play around with different sizes, print them, and trace from there, working out the patterns, etc. :D

So what if it's cheating? << At least I will have a nice mormal size frog (or dragon, etc) rather than the neat little guy who is literally the size of my thumb. Not that that isn't cute, but he can hardly be seen! <<; Now I have this urge to try and make some ridiculously complicated mess and see how many thumbnail-size frogs I can hide in it.

I'm gonna stay on the computer trying to make my tiny sketches until Dad gets home and I can beg the DVD player off him. ^^
