I have a bad habit I'm trying to work on. Wherein, at the end of my two week pay period I will take what money I have managed to hold onto up until that point and, well. Blow it. On various 'fun' things.
However.
Sometimes this stupidity turns out amazingly well.
Rented Lost in Translation and Kill Bill because they had been recommended to me. Possibly as far back as last year... <<; And Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust because. And I mean because. It was there! Starry eyed shock and grabbing while I continued trying to find Lost in Translation!
...Sometimes I'm very much the guy-stereotype of not asking for help and/or directions. Nearly an hour I spent hunting before the nice Blockbuster employee came over and asked if I needed help? Of course, being a girl I can make with the smiley and then not feel as bad because hey, he's being an idiot! <<;;; ... ^^;;;;; I'd like to end this little paragraph with the addition that I didn't do it consciously-on-purpose? And you're all free to shoot me now. #x.x#
Anyway. Lost in Translation is just surreal. And pretty. And is going to need further viewings to aid comprehension. Also, I’m worried the dvd I have is damaged slightly, since it cuts off at the credits - and given that one scene at the end I’d been hoping there was some after the credits thing. ;_; Dying here, can someone please tell me if there is?
Kill Bill? Is so. Warped. I probably laughed waaay too much during this thing, when I wasn’t shocked by the sheer level of... How to put this. There is now a connotation to the phrase ‘fucked up’ to my mind, that was not there before I watched this movie. Also, it probably says something about me that I was cheering for O-Ren through almost all of her part, right up to the showdown. That woman was too damn cool.
And, I am reminded by this of how much I love David Carradine’s voice. Finances permitting, I will go to the theater and see Kill Bill 2. << That, by the way, was a proper cliff-hanger. Nervous ‘omg what’s going to happen now‘ without gasping-for-breath AUGH do they die or not?! ...And there’s the comforting fact that people will die. In a bloody and much-deserved fashion. >:)
But. Bloodlust? ( Rampantly babbly squee )
..Also, I notice as I am posting this that there needs to be a lustful icon. Lustful is different from horny, because... because - just because! It should have little heart-eyes and an evil smirk and a pencil - << okay maybe this would just be writers, but damit! *puts onto the list of kittens she will manage to make someday*
