Dec. 9th, 2005 12:30 amAnd after all the headaches and the angst yesterday?
Went to bed late, which is followed by getting up late, which was actually a lucky thing - my sister called! ^_^
She was borrowing a neighbor's phone and we must have been on for almost an hour, talking about the kids and other stuff. Including Mom, who apparently will be writing me a letter. ... We'll see.
But there was much cuteness from the nieces and nephews, and I have a Santa-list! :D I could hear them talking to her over the phone, and suggestions for what they want for Christmas included such brillaince as 'a toy!' and 'catepillar!'. XD I also asked her about those Cockroach Clusters, and she agreed that they will love them for stocking stuffers. She sounded mildy nauseous saying so, but she agreed. They will be taken out of thier packaging even, and wrapped in clear plastic so as to increase the impression that they're real bugs. o.o
Does experimenting on them make me a bad Aunty? >.>
Eventually, after we got off the phone, I headed out to the mall. :D Yay manga and finding this beautiful ornament. A personal tradition that I've been keeping up the past few years was letting myself get one pretty Christmas ornament per year - if I got every ornament I think is pretty, we would never have been able to see the tree. It only occured to me as I was in a shop at the mall that all my ornaments have been birds. This year is no exception! ^.^ Although this will be the first year that I get my own tree, and do all the decorating thereof.
I'm debating between a small, real tree - or a small fake white one. Because a white tree with white, gold, silver and blue decorations and maybe some blue lights would look beautiful. But a real tree would make Dusky a happy kitty. But - the blue and white prettiness! But - my kitty climbing in a tree! @.@
The ultimate upshot of my sister's call, however, is that instead of driving out there this morning? I'll be driving out there this afternoon. She needs a ride into town for Dad's wedding Saturday, Michelle and Nathaniel are going to be flower girl and ring bearer! I will be at home, asleep, because it's during the day and I'd feel incredibly uncomfortable going anyway. Large social event where I'd have nothing to do but talk to people I don't know? Um, no thanks. I will send shiny congratulations card instead. At least I know Dad is cool with it - thankfully, he had the sense to ask well in advance.
Also. I did not misread the directions Dad gave me. He didn't specify that I needed to go past the Orange Park exit. Thus I spent a good two hours looking for a road that I was never going to find. >:PPP
But for now, I shall play with my mrring kitty for a minute, and then go see if I can find that Steak'n'Shake again.
ETA And I couldn't find it, and I've hardly managed a scratch at my Yuletide, although - at least it's a beginning. o.o; Now I need to do some cleaning, because that is compulsary when I know the sister and munchkins will be staying over tonight. >.> Then sleeep.
