Dec. 12th, 2005 08:31 amSo. This will be my confused attempt at condensing mentionables from the past few days. >.>
Firstly, the cryings for help about fingerprints were due to my sister, nieces and nephews staying overnight at my house, in order to be able to get to Dad's wedding to the girlfriend. ...wow. I have a mother-in-law. ...weird. O.o But, I like Val, so this is cool.
Fingerprints. From tiny desserts. And messy breakfasts. >.> Lucky, the sis helped me clean them! Otherwise I would've been the Rar!Aunty.
Now, since hours and hours of visiting creates too many aww and amusing and generally 'I shall now annoy you all babbling about small children' moments, I shall instead do this:
The Interpretive Smiley Dance! (one smiley per child)

*home!! all is bliss and good stuff*
Aunty: *helps carry things in and attempts her escape, only to have to pry off the munchkins who insist they've not got their huggies and kissies, even though this is the third round since getting them home* @.@
...Of course you realize, I got lost coming home. And drove in the wrong direction, and ended up in Middleburg!! &$#@ Same distance from my house as Green Cove. Opposite direction.
However, I am not stressed about that, considering that 1. I was able to recognize where I was and find my home and 2. I know where I screwed up, I stopped at a store to check for a hard-to-find Christmas present - and I was successful! ^__^ Yay my first Christmas present is purchased! I found a Dora the Explorer Dollhouse!
...this thing is huge. And 'spensive. And she'd better like it, is all I'm sayin'. XD But still, 1 kiddie down and 3 kiddies plus everybody else to go. >.>
Oh, and Dusky? I expected Dusky to get freaked by too much of the munchkins? Nothin' doing. It was my sister. XD She was doing just fine, she got petted some and generally avoided the munchkins as she realized they were going to hug and squish and muss her fur and meeeep o.o
And then, and this is roughly the way my sister told me: "She liked me okay! She let me pet her some earlier, and everything was cool. And then I was using the bathroom. *pause* And, okay, I was having some trouble, and making a little bit of noise - and your cat comes in. *pause* And she saw me, and I guess something about the noise freaked her out, because her ears went flat and she just baaacked up out of the room - and now she hisses at me! See?" She demonstrates, because Dusky has come out because apparently me=safety from the demon-woman, and sure enough - serious, 'I have claws, b****' hissing.
XD XD XD
Meanwhile, I have recently gotten my debit card (finally!) and am becoming worried that I might go a little nuts. Or that just might be the holidays. But I keep bouncing between 'okay, must control myself and not be going nuts' and ' *gasp!squeee! I should do this and that and get some of those and she needs such and such and everyone needs a fruitcake!'
So far, the self-control is winning. Which is good, as I don't wanna go broke. And I've been at the self-control long enough that going broke would take a small disaster or some serious effort on my part? But still. If I did every shiny thought I've had, I could pull that off. >.>
*watching self carefully*
One utterly unnecessary thing I did go through with, though - go ye forth and drool at the fruitcake! Because I cannot remember a holiday season where we did not get one of these. Grandpa and Grandma used to buy it for us. I got their little flyer in the mail and you can probably imagine my reaction, and then I looked at the prices and thought, dammit. This is a tradition! And I love these fruitcakes, they have utterly spoiled me on any other kind of fruitcake (which are usually lousy fake fruitcakes, in any case - compare fresh fish to canned ;p )
So I bought one for me, to be shared with the little brother some, and the Dad should he notice it and want a piece when it arrives. And another to give to my sister, for her and her kids and the Kevin-Daddy (not-the-husband because they can't afford to add him to the lease yet. XD ... :D ) Because somebody in this family must continue the tradition of giving fruitcake that is edible! ^_^
And now I must get myself ready to take in my rolled change, to begin the holiday shopping in earnest. Or at least half of it - and the other half when I get my next paycheck in on Friday. meeep! @.@
...where is my fruitcake already!
