Shopping success! One shiny YGO: Dawn of the Duel for me! (And I checked if it was scratched or anything as soon as I left the store.) :D

Also there was a store right next door where I got new shoes I needed. Sports Authority, where I like to go because I tend to be a bit rough on shoes. I mean, when you can almost poke your little toe out of the shoe because a seam along the side decides to give? Not good. Also lots of other scuffs and some minor tears, but that big one (which I noticed while in Best Buy) kind of sealed it. >.>

And! There was a Cold Stone Creamery in the same plaza, so. I've never been before! So neat to watch your ice cream made. I finished my lovely mint shake on the way back (when of course I got lost, but not too badly) and there's a lovely mint & fudge thing sitting in the freezer which I will enjoy with lunch. :)~

Somehow, I'm craving Chrono Trigger. And Cross. And the Last Unicorn, of all things, which I also picked up while I was out. Along with milk and cereal and the microwave panini I'll be having for lunch. But right now, since my dishes are done and the washing of refrigerator shelves must wait until the first one is dry, writing!

...today is wonderful so far, yeah? Nice change.

*inebriated*, skim pls.

*giggle*

I learned earlier today there's a Chrono Trigger version for the playstation, which may actually be a good deal since the CT SNES cartridge looks more expensive than the console. I realize now I like people who love the same games as I. I keep on auto-loving Monkey-Island-lovers.

I still need to see Cross.

Also, something about a [livejournal.com profile] shusu-dance of... death, I think. I forget the details now.

In reverse order, then: Not death, but awesome! (although there was dying involved...)

shusu-chan: that is so awesome
I'm doing the awesome dance
it's all so awesome
watch me work the awesome

me: in a horrible doomy sort of way, yes. omg

Shusu-chan: woop woop woop
awesomeeee

And : I actually have the Playstation version? Because I have no SNES and I didn't really want one, but man I wanted my Trigger. <3 But I have never played Monkey Island? *curious*

Cross is... is... omg. I love it for itself, but it can be a bit overwhelming, as the timelines and realities in it make Trigger seem linear. I've actually sat down and tried to work out what happened when, and I'm not sure it's possible. And I will stop now before I go on and on, because I have just restarted that one, and this tends to lead to babbling. Also since you haven't seen, it would be spoilery. :x

Shusu! Behold the dance of awesome!!

Ahee:P

Monkey Island has pirates, and monkeys. And monkey pirates, now that I think of it. It's silly fun.

Interesting, interesting. I played it emulated for a while, but it's not quite the same. I think I may have to invest in a playstation.

It would probably be worth it--because I can tell you that the newer model of the PS2, the Slimline? Does NOT like some original PlayStation games, which is just very No in my book. =p (hello, I'm Lacey, or lrodell, also occasionally Twillery; I--heyyy, is it Monkey Island that they partially based the Pirates of the Caribbean ride at Disneyland on, and therefore, in part, the Pirates of the Caribbean movies? I think I started to read up on them a while back, because of so many mysterious (to me) references? *cough* I also tend to ramble in LJs. hiii^^)

...that never occurred to me, but yeah, it looks like there was some cross-pollenation going on there. Neat:)

Of course, I speak of the first two games, DOS-era, the ones you'ld play under ScummVM now. The ones I suddenly want to play again now:)
The new ones have puzzles that are a little too see-if-you-can-figure-out-my-brainfart for me.

*nod* I was looking at getting one of the original PS2s on ebay. Because I also wanted to see what all the Katamari kerfuffle was about.

You know, I always read that as irodell. Anyhow, hi indeed:)

That is the fate of Cup Of Coffee #3 about half the time--I make a nice, strong pot of coffee (Maxwell House's French Roast is closest to home, though there's nothing *quite* like coffee and chickory), set up that third cup--and remember where I put it half an hour later. So I drop in a few ice cubes and away I go! That is how my grandfather did it, and since I was drinking coffee then--ohhh, *that's* how they got me to drink coffee with sugar in it! Hot was always black when I was five or so, but iced needed sugar, or it got bitter. And evaporated milk.^^
...you know, I don't think I've tried whipping up an iced-coffee slushie in this smoothie-maker we have yet...*eyes gleam*

Ice cubes and an easily distracted nature, gotcha. Just need the ice cubes:)

Chickory. Evaporated milk. Coffee slushie. I feel like a total amateur now. ...although the coffee slushie sounds like something I'd do.
