Still drained a bit. Stressing over things and that time=miserable.
But, lo and behold, I did make atiny, crappy character sheet. Go me! ;p
On the other hand, conversations in headspace are wierd sometimes.
Neville: So, i've decided it's wrong not to tell Gran about my plans. (becoming an Auror etc) And i've come up with a plan to deal with this. *pauses a minute* I'm going to wait until my birthday, so i'll be of age; then I'll tell her. Then I'll run for it.
Me: *choking on coffee* NEVILLE!!! You can't do that, it'll kill her, she'll be worrying you've got killed and and and- boy, don't make me lock you in that house!
Neville: *whiny* But she'll guilt trip me out of it, I know she will, *mood shift to as sneaky/manipulative as he can manage* and then I'll get depressed and resentful. You don't want that, do you?
Me: *don't give me that look* You tell her on your birthday, and you need to be more concerned with gettinng out of the way when she decides it's somehow Algie's fault as a bad influence.
Neville: *remembering that in the very worst arguments, Gran has thrown things at her brother-in-law* Oh no. You're right. I'll definately be hiding then...
Upon hearing that Neville needs a new wand:
"Knows that now, does he? I've been telling Abigail for years Frank's wand was all wrong for the boy!" *is smug while thinking for a moment* "I'll get him a new one for his birthday; we can make a family trip of it, go shopping in Diagon Alley and everything, it'll be great! I recall Neville mentioning something about those twins setting up a joke shop too and-"
Enid interrupts, looking suspicious and disturbed. "Algie. Love. How are you planning on telling him this?"
He looks over at her with an isn't it obvious? expression. "Just going to tell him, aren't I? Hmm... 'Now I know you've been using your Dad's old wand, but it's all wrong for you and I think it's high time we got rid of it and got you a new one.' Right?' "
Enid, looking about one minute away from aforementioned kicking: "You cannot say that to him! For one thing, he tends to take things literally, if you say 'get rid of', he will hear 'throw away'." Holding up a hand, forestalling objections. "I know you wouldn't mean it that way, but that is what he will hear. Also, how many times have I told you the boy doesn't like sudden change and surprises *muttering to herself mentally 'and it's no bloody wonder with you around'* and you can't just spring things like that on him?" She eyes her husband for a minute. "Okay, you talk to Abigail about this, I will tell Neville." Glares as if daring him to object.
Surprisingly wise man keeps his mouth shut.
This, I had to share. Now I will go and be lazy until I leave for work.
Which will also hopefully be lazy, since Sunday night/Monday mornings are usually slow. *crosses fingers*
