Sep. 8th, 2003 07:14 pmIs it wrong that when I decided to add this tag I thought about finishing the label with 'Danger, Will Robinson!'?
Woke up absolutely freezing, even though it turns out to be 80 degrees as usual.
I'm drinking coffee and it's barely helping to warm me up. o.o
I really, really wish that it were possible to hibenate through this time of month, you know? Just go to sleep for a week or so, and wake up sane and perfectly healthy feeling again.
This is not helped by my suspicion that they're getting worse because I'm getting a bit older. I mean, I'm only 25, for crying out loud! But I don't remember them being like this until recently; I know I never had headaches from it before. Therefore, most logical conclusion I can come up with: my body's metabolism is shifting subtly, due to the fact that I am so not a teenager anymore. ;p
Of course, why it would wait until 25 to recognize this is beyound me.
And I had the night from heck at work, last night. This morning. Whenever.
Thing is, if she had given me a chance, I'd have been happy to check the price on the freaking peaches;I was already heading for the phone to do so. But this lady did not pause for breath before lashing into me about not co-operating with her. I mean this literally; I opened my mouth to tell her I'd be going to the phone to call Grocery, and had to switch to 'Ma'am, I'm not arguing with you' before I could start.
When she started cussing at me because I insisted on finishing that sentance, though. >:O I mean, cussing someone out because they're trying to do what you wanted? It wasn't my fault she came in with an attitude; (and oh, she did, she was chewing out her husband before me) and it wasn't my fault she didn't have the common courtesy to give people time to actually do things, rather than expecting to have them simply happen because she had graced us with her prescence.
Oh, I love this mindset that says simply because the cahsier is there, we have to put up with whatever abuse the customer feels like dishing out. >.<
Was rather proud of myself for not crying, as I have done before, though. I just yelled (had to, to be sure she could hear me over the sound of her own ranting) 'Ma'am, all I kept trying to say was that I was not arguing with you, and that is not rude, and you can wait for the CSM, because I'm not putting up with this!'
Of course, she just kept going, now about how I need to look for another job because I'm clearly not suited for being a cashier: I, apparently, have no manners.
This kills me, because several of the girls that were there would have been cussing her right back if she'd pulled this with them. Heck, I saw one of 'em heading down to my end and got headed off by a different CSM. ^^ That made me feel better, too.
I'm just really hoping tonight goes better, since it is my Friday. Yes, my mantra for tonight will be 'Just get through tonight; Then you have a weekend.'
Also, I noticed a CD scratch repairer, for which I have dug up change. ^^; I don't get paid until Thursday, and I really want this to see if I will be able to play Parasite Eve again; I've only caught myself humming Eve's little opera-tune off and on for 3 days. XD At first, I didn't even remember what it was; I kept thinking 'I know this tune... where did I hear this...'
So, addendum to mantra: 'And you will have a lovely CD-repairer, which will let you play Parasite Eve.'

Date: 2003-09-08 10:22 pm (UTC)Yay for the CD fixer, I hope it works--tell me about Parasite Eve? I'd thought about renting it, but wasn't yet inclined toward 'survival horror'--which I hear it isn't, quite? What else are you playing these days? (FF5, Pokemon Gold (restarted, I'm a nut);Poke Blue and Ruby; Oracle of Ages;little bit of FFTactics, *teeny* bit of Resident Evil and Dino Crisis (trying to decide between them, Jay (my brother)has given up on them)) Babbling madly, try a heating pad for your back and a cool towel over your eyes in a dark room for the headaches whenever possible? Good luck on everything, and don't let the idiots get you down. Just think of them being eaten alive by rabid ducks.^^

Date: 2003-09-09 07:28 pm (UTC)But I like Parasite Eve; it isn't really a survival-horror type thing, just they end up evacuating the city because there's only one person immune to the villianess's powers. So most of the time it's just Aya, the main character, wandering around by herself, trying to figure out what her connection to this woman/thing is, because there has to be one, otherwise she wouldn't be immune and developing strange powers of her own. ^^; If I keep going, I'll end up telling the whole story. I'm going to have to buy a new copy, though. :(
Mostly still playing through Breath of Fire 3; starting to want to play 4, as well. But! I put a Playstation2, and a couple of FF games (Tactics and Origins) into layaway a while back! :D I think I have like 2 or 3 payments left before I'll get them out! *bounces*
Of course, then I'll have to get Kingdom Hearts and FF10, because I've heard far too much about them. And I'm still looking for a copy of Vagrant Story, which I've also heard is good; but i'd rather find one around here than order from online. << Possibly wishful thinking.
Now I suddenly want to play FF. Any FF. I wonder why... XD
try a heating pad for your back Now I want of these; that sounds really, really comfy. And waarmm... *falls asleep*
And the idiots did get to me a bit, but at least no one as bad as the... person yesterday. Besides; rabid ducks! XD
