#13 - The True Nature Of The Armor

More serious conversation here, too. The sudden suspicion from Shuu, then Touma: "I hope you're as careful as that from now on. Recklessness will get you killed, after all." walks past him "Anyway, let's find an exit."

Shuu: "I'd say that's got to be the real Touma."

The conversation between Arago and the Masho... no difference that I could see big enough to point out. Oh, but Rajura does ask Arago what the plan is and gets told off for it.

Oh, and I heard, in the line that's translated as: "Their armor gains more power every time we meet them.", the word 'kokoro'.

Oh Shuu. :( Not with the random destruction!

And Touma seems not to have completely forgotten learning Shuten is human, here: "We're not even sure ourselves... ...what the true powers of our armors are." <<

And then, tactical argument, Shuu insisting "There's something to be said for making the first move", Touma sticking to his side, that they're in the middle of enemy territory, and shouldn't waste energy. ^^

Looking in the window: "Don't they have better things to do?"

And inside the car, "Alright, I'll take you on!" Grinning!

And after: "You little shrimp are nothing." Youja... no, wait. Soldiers of doom. Doom! All fall down and "You need a lot more experience to take me on."

I should not be grinning myself, here. Really I shouldn't. I know where he's headed, but damnit, he looks so happy fighting. << ^^;

Arago: "Kongo, you shall watch." Battlefield and bodies coming into clearer view as the mists pull off - Masho...

Shuu: "What is this?" "There you are!"

Arago: "Kongo no Shuu, I did not bring you here to do battle."

Shuu: "What?!"

Arago: "Don't you think it's unusual that the armors of the four Masho... ...lie before you?" Actually they're standing, not lying. Although, in another sense of the word... x.x

Shuu: "Well..."

Arago: "They are the armored warriors... ...whose mission it is to conquer Japan... ...and then the world, through slaughter and destruction."

Shuu: "So, what about it?"

Arago: "The armors are... ...infused with savage, evil ambition... ...and possessed by a curse."

Okay must pause here to point out - and that curse would be you, you evil >:o stupid demon! >:o

...anyway.

Arago: "As a warrior fights... ...he will gain more power and bloodlust from his battles. As the armor makes you stronger, you will get stronger as well..." ?

Shuu: "That's exactly right! The armor of Kongo has gained the power to destroy you!" Okay, and stop the boasting Shuu! Knock it off, will ya please? o.o

Arago: "Kongo... ...there is no such thing as fighting for justice and righteousness. To the warrior... ...only the feelings of savage anger and vengeance gather."

Shuu: "What?"

Arago: "The armors of my Masho... ..are the extreme versions of the armor that you wear. As you fight... ..it will bring out your true nature and draw you closer to me."

Shuu: "My armor... My armor is going to become the same as the four Masho?" I can't answer that, I can't... must resist... the dark side! >:p Stupid dark side and its yummy angst! x.x;

Ooooh, that smug "hmph" is in here, too.

Arago: "Hmph. Now you begin to understand."

Shuu: "W-what?" :( Shaky eyes all scared oh! :(

Arago: "But do not worry, Kongo. It is not only your armor that is destined... ...for massacre and vengeance! Rekka no yoroi, Korin no yoroi, Tenku no yoroi, Suiko no yoroi! All of these armors belong to men... ...possessing the ambition to conquer and dominate the world!" Not commenting.

Shuu: "That's nonsense" not commenting! "I'm not going to listen to anymore of this garbage!" << Actually, in this episode alone... ^^; I can't not comment, can I? XD

Arago: "That is the word of the master of the Samurai Troopers. It cannot be disputed." The crow! What is with the evil crow, anyway?

Shuu: "You call yourself our master?!" duh...

Arago: "The Samurai Troopers belong to the netherworld." Youjakai! I heard that! << ^^; I'm going to have to listen to these with the subtitles off, too... once I have my own dvd player. :( Where was he?

Arago: "Those armors that you wear represent massacre and destruction. Eventually, you will turn against humans... ...and return to the netherworld."

Shuu: "That's a lie!" Yelling.

Arago: "You don't have to understand. I just want you to fight. I look forward to you getting stronger... ...and awakening to your evil side. Fight! Kongo!" There was a tiny splinter of truth in there, in that he does want them to fight to get stronger... :(

Eeep. Shuu. ;_; They're not them, you idiot! It's not them! ...and who are you calling baka, anyway, Mr. Gullible? O.o

Rajura: "Don't you understand yet?" so softly... "Look down at your feet!" and he does "That's right. You're a traitor who killed your friends with your own hands."

Shuu: "Traitor?" eeep - questioning tone, poor Shuu. :(

Rajura: "Your armor is destined for a bloodstained existence! We are your true allies." And the illusion of Ryo shatters. Am dying here. x.x

Rajura: "But you betrayed us... ...by forgetting your true nature and going over to the side of the humans." Different stress to his voice, now, like he means what he's saying, like he actually feels betrayed - not overly stressed about it, mind, but still...

The 'others' rise into the air to hand behind him. Rajura: "That's right. It may be just an illusion... ...but it is aimed at showing you your true destiny!"

Rajura: "I am showing you what the future holds for you."

Shuu: "That's ridiculous!" Nuh-uh, he said 'baka'! << I sense the approach of fangirl Japanese, here... "I would never fight my real friends!" ...now wait just a - you thought they were your real friends when you just did fight them and! >:O !!! See, now you're lying! And!

Shuu: "Listen! My armor is gaining strength in order to fight... ...and defeat you Warlords of Doom!" DOOM! << Okay, no really he's saying Masho, but the subtitles... Doom! >:)

Rajura: (laughter -ouchy) "Don't be stupid. You think the armor grows stronger in order to defeat us? I've lost patience with your confusion!" In a laughing tone until the last line.

Shuu: "What do you mean?!"

Rajura: ( 'I am talking to an idiot' tone... condescension! That's it.) "The reason your armor is getting stronger... ...is because it is awakening to its true nature."

Shuu: "True nature?" x.x These sorts of responses make me want to side with Rajura. What have you two been talking about this whole time?! >.<

Rajura: "Yes. Its true desire is to be covered in the blood of war and battle. Out of your five armors... ...the most bloodthirsty... ...and brutal and savage as compared to the others... ...is your armor! Kongo no yoroi!" The pointing bit. x.x

Shuu: "N-no!" Again, baka-something else? << And hello, bloodthirsty hallucination. A question: How did he see this? It seems to be in his own head, and I don't know - can Rajura do that?

Shuu: "It's a lie! It has to be!" Uncertainty still there in the denial.

Rajura: "What you saw just now was not one of my illusions." Okay, an answer - but Rajura is a liar, and how else would he know? Unless of course Arago... >.< Also there is a tone - almost commiseration before Arago's voice starts to overlap his. Implications too much! x.x "That was the vision of the path taken by your armor throughout history. That is what your armor is trying to teach you."

Shuu: "My armor? Teaching me?" Should be many, many? Like so- ??????

Arago: (By himself, and impatient now) "Don't you understand? Then you shall learn through your own experience!"

Uh-oh Army...

Shuu: "W-what are these guys?!" And then, assumes fighting stance. "Phantoms? Is this thier illusion?" ...'thier?' Huh.

And Rajura attacks: "You must join our ranks!"

Shuu: "I'm never gonna submit to scum like you!" Aaah, nostalgia....

Rajura: "You might not feel that way, but your armor disagrees!" O.O Ack! *waves hesitantly at Shusu* Lookit you are right? ^^;; ...so, has he been talking to Shuu this whole time, or the armor? ;p

Rajura: "Show me! The true nature of your armor!"

Shuu: "You want it? You got it! I'll show you whether my armor is for justice or evil! You just watch!" Buso! Kongo!

Rajura: (laughter again, and pleased) "That's right! That's the armor! The same that has bathed in the blood of massacre!"

Shuu: "Shut up! I'm not listening to anymore lies! I'll show you once and for all that this armor is intended to destroy you!"

Rajura: "Come. I'll show you the nature of your armor!" Tiny blue glint in his eye - the fighting, and be knocked flying, and then - "What? Is that all?! No. Your armor still has a greater ability! It wants more blood! More evil!" Almost the same wording as the dub, but a calmer tone 'figuring things out', decisive on 'more evil', and then commanding "Come at me. Be as violent as your armor's nature desires!"

Shuu: "Enough! I don't fight as my armor commands! I fight with my own free will!" dub, exact.

Rajura: (laughter) "Is that will your armor's, or yours? Let's see!" attacking again. "Show me! Show me its evil side!"

Ack, the glowing- Shuu sensing the armor and!

Rajura: "Oh, this is it! This is the power of your armor!" Eager...

Shuu, strained: "This is ...?!" and attacks - idiot! Ryo, and "You think you can fool me?!" Seiji "Take that!" but Shin "Shin!" so softly, aww! ^^;; and Touma "Now you're Touma?" who attacks, and "Enough of this, Rajura!"

oh-oh damn - Rajura: "Well, Shuu? How does it feel to be betrayed by your own? It must feel good." x.x

Oh Shuu. You idiot. Here we go: "Why, you! You really want to push me, don't you?" Yes! And why are you allowing yourself to be pushed?! o.o "You think my armor's the essence of evil? That can't be! There's no way!" Yelling, Shuu, yelling and not thinking! :/

Goodbye, illusion. Hello and goodbye, a good chunk out of the city. Plus moral certainty.

Rajura: "I saw that smile, Kongo! I saw the pleasure you took!" Yes, and we - oh! >:/

Touma.

Shuu standing there, head down and Arago laughing: "It seems that your armor represents slaughter and destruction."

Shuu: "What?"

Arago: "Look at the mountain of rubble!" which he does "That destruction... ...is proof beyond a doubt that your armor is the essence of evil."

Shuu: "What?!"

Arago: "One day, you shall return to the Netherworld. That is all I'll say. I look forward to that day." evil! laughter!

Shuu: "It can't be..."

Touma: "Shuu!" comes up "Did you do this?"

Shuu: "Yeah, I did. The power of my armor did this!" That pained expression -! Oh geez - Touma! Reassure him or something! Poke him until he talks! ;_;

Meanwhile, in the castle which I'd like to burn to the ground just now...

Arago: "Good work, Rajura."

Rajura: "It was nothing, Master. I was the only one who could've accomplished this. It would've been too much for the others." << >:o! I wish they could hear you, I bet they'd have something to say to that!

Arago: (little laugh) "We have planted the seed. I'll have Shuten take his turn next!"

Oh look a genuine emotion! it's - shock! ...should I mention his lurkingness has been glaring at me on and off throughout this mess? ^^ ;;; >:)

Rajura: "Shuten?! I don't understand, Master!"

Arago: "Shuten has changed quite a bit. You just watch."
