Well it really depends on what system you're looking at. If it's the Buddhist / Shinto system... then it depends on who you were and the circumstances of your death. And where you died. A lot of that philosophy is relative to the individual -- it's not like Christian or Egyptian systems where you can write a whole book and it will *always* be that way. Eastern systems predominantly mix and match; they have a nice big list of underworlds and otherworlds but they can't really tell you where you're going. (They seem to have more expertise about where you came from.)
