Okay, I meant to be doing my usual commentary/squee and babble, but. I have been extra-sleepy and much overwhelmed with the awesome.

Spoiler Stuffed! )

So, I'm getting ready for work. No, really! Typing is not at all distracting.

But tonight? 358/2 Days comes out. That is distracting. :D

Thinking about it yesterday, though, I suddenly realized why I have so much trouble writing the basement gang from Chain of Memories.

It's freaking Zexion. Bubbly rant ahoy! )

Okay. FFIV so far?

I may die of cute )

Behold! A random update full of ...things. Mostly shiny things!

My tax refund! Which covers the money I lost to car repairs and then some. Now I just need to worry about deposit-money and moving expenses, and assuming I ever work up the nerve, I'll be able to move! <3

...I did spend a little of that on a new external hard drive, though. I keep my writing and photos on that, as well as my music collection - the low grinding noise the old one had been making since its little accident was freaking me out. o.o I mean. My writing. Suppose it had died and there was a surge in the electricity and my computer died too! Unlikely? Yes. But I don't care, I feel better now anyway. ;)

I finally got my refund for the defective dvd/vcr combo of last year. A few weeks ago, actually, and I cashed the check and have been sitting on said cash since. I just couldn't work up any enthusiasm for buying another one. Well, I finally got myself out to the mall area today, stopped in Michael's for much oohing and aahing and a little actual shopping in the crafts section (wheee!) and then to Best Buy?

And started feeling really uphappy. I mean it went from meh to wondering why I'd bothered to come out. So I stopped, and looked at the selection and thought, okay, why am I even doing this? Well, because I feel like I ought to. How much am I going to use this if I buy it? Hardly ever. Waste of money, of which there is not a lot because I am not even touching the refund. ...and what would I rather have?

A DS. And a Wii and an X-Box and every single game I've ever wanted to play, right? ^^; But a DS I can get. And if I wait and check out Game Stop, I might get a used one and thus also have the money for my first game for said DS. And I felt so much better! And tomorrow, presuming that I both get up on time to go out and actually find what I want at Game Stop, I will feel even happier! Yes. That is the plan. Because, you know, I can think of 4 or 5 games off the top of my head that I want for the DS. I drool at them every day when I pass through the electronics section at work! And if I can't find a copy of that FF I cannot remember the number of it but it's the one with Kain and Cecil and Rosa - if I don't find it at Game Stop I have seen it at work. Yes.

And then I'll have to proritize on the other games, though currently that new Zelda one and The World Ends With You are tying. I mean. Zelda! I miss Zelda so much.

...I have this feeling I was going to say something else? But drooling over games has distracted me. XD

ETA: Oh wait, I remember one thing - I passed through the Wii games while I was there, and found this Magnificent Thing which I will someday own? A mystery sort of game played from the point of view of either a tarantula or a scorpion, your choice.

A Tarantula or a Scorpion! How awesome is that? :D I don't even care what the game is about, really, I just want to play as the tarantula. XD

So, I've been a more or less unhappy lump except while reading? Though I have enjoyed the cold weather we've been getting. We're under a hard freeze warning right now. News on the radio while I was driving informed me this is bad for our fruit crops. Well, yes, duh. :P

In an effort to remind myself that not all is woe and sadness (which it feels like, which I'm hoping means hormones time again - damn my inability to keep track of this) some things I have enjoyed this weekend:

1. Finally started playing FF10 again. I can't remember why I found the game play for this so frustrating before? I'm really enjoying it now! If I'm not the last person in the world playing FF10, then here be your spoiler cut )

2. I have torn through The Golden Compass and The Subtle Knife. Seriously, I haven't read anything this fast in forever. I'm trying to slow down a bit on The Amber Spyglass, but I'm already halfway through and might finish it before I go to sleep. Just one note here: Spoiler for the Amber Spyglass )

3. It being wonderfully cold and clear, I was able to look up several times while walking around outside and see Orion and a scattering of other stars. Also we have a nice half moon.

4. And lots of progress has been made on the screen-capping of KH II. I just haven't gotten around to uploading them. And it's such a pain for such tiny files that I might wait until I'm done, condense them by worlds, and throw them up that way.

Now! Bills paid up, clicking of dragons done for the day (I have a boy silver, yay!) and time for bed. *leaves hugs and encouragements for all*

This is not an icon post, because that icon needs improving. But.

It amuses me. That scene always amuses me. It evokes a brain-hurting image of Xaldin and the Beast going to a salon or something. Seriously, look at that man's eyelashes. :P

I am sleepy. Feel free to confuse this with other brain-altering states.

Weekend so far: Much much better than last weekend. When the car fail started. Now I am minus car fail and plus trip to the bookstore, so. Yay!

Though the trip itself was interesting due to my trying to keep calm and not freak out. About halfway on the trip I realized I'd already made it past where I broke down before, which felt weird for some reason. Made it all the way to the bookstore, breathed a sigh of relief, and spent more than an hour wandering around because I didn't exactly want to get back in the car. Also, books. <3

Forced to leave by the closing of the bookstore, I got my book and coffee and a metal puzzle I didn't start on these because of Lexaeus. Seriously! ...am I fooling anyone? and got back in the car. Which of course started. And seemed to run a little smoother on the way home, even, which I think might be the new part settling in? I. Do not know. And I made it all the way home, felt much better for pulling into the driveway, turned the car off -

- and the handle of the glovebox twists in my hand. %$#@ To understand the importance of this, you need to know that the glovebox contains the garage door opener, and said opener is the only way in the house because everything else is blocked up or lost keys. x.x

So I spent a couple of minutes out there fiddling with this thing and thinking that I'd have to go and wake my Dad up to let me in the house, oh joy of joys. I mean, it's not like he hasn't lost enough sleep helping me with the car, right? Need moar breakage. But luckily, it was a twist and not a break, and I was able to sort of ease it back into place.

And no more keeping the garage door opener in there.

Plans for tonight: I need a new bra, and have a promotional coupon for 15% off which will soon expire. So, mall run! (and coffee) and then, I dunno. I am this close to beating Reverse/Rebirth (damn you and your deliciously evil voice, Ansem!) so I'll probably be doing a lot of leveling then trying to beat him, repeat until dead. (Him not me.) And maybe more screencaps, speaking of which:

Screencapping post now updated and stickied! New scenes have an asterisk.

zzzzzzzzzzz

So. Another update full of happy?

Or not so much. Water worries and car drama )

So. I will not let this get me down, even though I am a bundle of moody and on default All Is Bleak And Woeful. x.x Because even in the above drama and freaking out, there is much of the good.

Other good stuff this weekend: Inauguration! We can haz President Obama! \o/

I got my very first gold dragon egg, which I've been wanting since I started collecting dragons at the Dragon Cave. Psst this is me.

Story for me: The Orgy vs the Twelve Dancing Princesses It is funny! And full of the lovely simple imagery and Lexaeus! ^_^

And I have got some screencapping done, and intend to do more in a minute, and perhaps actually make a post sharing them at some point tonight.

And I'm almost done with Reverse/Rebirth - past Lexaeus now, which was rather sad because. Now it's only Zexion and Ansem left to go through, and it's bad enough I had to beat Lexaeus, I don't wanna beat Zexion because I know what happens next.

But. Right now, I shall step awaaay from the computer. That I might cook my dinner, since we stopped at my work for groceries after everything else.

Re:Chain of Memories )

In other news, I did make it to the used bookstore - yesterday, instead of on my weekend. But I made it! And delicious Discworld awaits my reading enjoyment. :)

I promptly fell back into the habit of staying up to noon. x.x

Also, much cleaning and some organizing and general stuff that had been put off too long was accomplished, so overall I'm pretty pleased with myself right now. Except for the not sleeping thing.

Re:Chain of Memories )

In other news: I'm trying to get my sleeping shedule (currently at:none x.x) back to normal. So far, getting up on time has given me a headache and I didn't make it to the used bookstore. Maybe tomorrow?

I have just finished watching the entirety of the Venture Brothers! Extra sarcasm and villainous ranting may be side effects. Also, VB/Kingdom Hearts: y/n/have you been in Brock's 'herb garden' ?

Goals for the year that are not resolutions because resolutions jinx me: Read more books! Like, the ones that I keep meaning to re, or re-read, and never do.
Write more, dammit.
Draw more also!
And screencaps, because screencaps are fun.

More serious stuff is in another list entirely, which is actually written down. And in front of me. And depressing. So now that I've marked a couple of the small things off it, I will return to having my butt kicked by video game, which is always entertaining!

Guess how I spent most of my day? Sleeping. And coughing.

Note to self: Stop pretending you're not sick when you are. When you wake up roasting in 60 degree weather it is bad, it is not your imagination. No matter how clever and/or guilt trippy your excuses are, any thought that goes as follows: 'I'm not sick, it's xyz' ?

It is a Lie. lieslieslies

On the other hand. Two hundred moar words into yuletide! Words that bridge a difficult gap, and should allow me to continue later. @.@

Also, re: Re:CoM (look i'm funny. or lame. :P) Donald, dear, stop casting Thunder on those freaky mermen Heartless or I will make a feather pillow out of you. No love. >:P

Or. I could stop using his card in Atlantica. >>

Let the squee begin! :D

Re:Chain of Memories )

In news somewhat related to the above, yuletide is benefiting from the squee, since the energy not leading me to write Re:CoM redirects easily into the yule-fandom. <3
