Looking at how much money I have to live off until next paycheck, I decided that between needing to put some more gas in my car and all, I should just wait on the zoo.

After all, I plan to tank myself up on coffee and try to stay awake all day and take manymanymany pictures! Or at least keep taking pictures until I have many decent ones to share! :D And when my paycheck gets in next week, I shall have the funds to do so!

...omg I must be insane, I'm going to throw my sleeping schedule all out of whack.

And why didn't I have the money to do it this weekend? >.> omg, my electric bill! O.O For you see, I did not calculate for the increase due to my Christmas tree. Between that, and the general cold weather making me run the heater, it doubled on me. *shock* *heartattack* *initial confusion as to why it was that bad, until noticing the box of Christmas ornaments while organizing the closet* >.>;;;

Instead, I poked at writing and cleaning this afternoon, and got caught up on YGO that I have been taping but not watching because I didn't wanna see anything depressing.

Spoilerful babbly rants within! )

Sucess! :D

Brain-eating ficcy obessingness begins: October 31st.
And ends (nominally) : November 17th

And it can probably use some editing, and I might end up redoing that last scene and I will go through and make sure it is properly cutesy and creepy. The ship that I don't even sail, Yugi and Ryou piloted their ownselves. >:P

And I've only just realized that I don't even have a title for this thing. XD

But I don't caaare!! Because in a stroke of brilliance starting at about six o'clock, I was able to finish! Finished finished finished! *spins in her lovely spinning chair*

...yes, I do have enough trouble finishing things to feel justified in this insane fit of glee. ;p Also, I will totally be inflicting this story upon my flist, once it is polished and possibly beta'd. >:D

But that will be sometime tonight, after said polishing and also after I reward myself for sticking to it, by embarking upon the Gaia-colored doom of the entire YuGiOh cast. Bwahaha!

For now, I must get myself dressed and haul my usually-lazy butt to the bank, for purposes of opening up a *gasp* debit-type account. Instead of, y'know. Living out of my savings' one. >.>;

Yay for randomly successful days! I got cleaning done, and gave my car oil and I made an icon!

Learned how to handle Paintshop a little better, too.

A random thought that I keep meaning to put down - I figured out what it is about Otogi Ryuji that is so squeeful. He actually has a sense of compassion.

Something lacking in the foursies )
spoke: spider with a pen on a book (*insert manical laughter here*)
High levels of squee :

omg, Yu-Gi-Oh! Egypt!! Left quivering and trapped because they only showed one! XD And they haven't even got to the good stuff yet! Had so much fun staring with the huge saucery eyes and mentally comparing things - and im-ingly comparing things. >> *apology where needed* I think that sucked every ounce of squee out of my brain. ^___^

Minor squee-cut, in case of the vauge possibility of spoiling )

Then I crashed, all emotionally over-wrought and just so moody I figured I would be horrible company - didn't mean to worry anyone? ^^;;

But today, managed to get some things done. Like stopping by Home Depot to try one last time to find handles and knobs that will fit my desk. >.< Apparently they don't have them in that size at all.

Then, trying to find the Goodwill to drop off various things I just don't need. I hunted up instructions and everything, and then got lost. But I found it! It was the purest bit of dumb luck I ever remember getting. I drive and drive and it's the usual of thinking, 'Well did I miss the turn? But I haven't seen Lenox yet, I have to turn on Lenox... nope. No Lenox. Maybe I missed it, I should turn around and go back - maybe I even turned the wrong way on the first turn and it's behind me and %$#@'

So I hit a really tricky tangle - I ought to draw a map of this one spot, sometime? I don't think the roads overlapping in this area could be more confusing if they'd done it on purpose. Seeing where I am, I panic and think, 'Okay I have to choose - straight goes on forever, not enough turns, better turn now!' Taking my turn, I head down that way a bit - and see Lenox. Woot! I found Lenox, now I just have to turn onto it and - holy crap, it's the Goodwill!'

'This would so rock if it weren't a complete accident.' XD

Now I shall crash! And see what insanity my comments may/may not have wrought once I wake up.

Okay, like, everyone needs to see this!

We've been waiting long enough...

Also everyone needs to see this! Bdaman!! Gooo! Learn of the cracktastique! It has convienent and informative schedules even!

And now we should all pause and gives thanks for the wonderous crack in the world, because once people couldn't make things Yu-Gi-Oh! and Bdaman and all the other wonderful crack in the world, and were forced to experiment on themselves by eating funny plants instead. *attempted serious nodding that dissolves into howling giggling SQUEEEE*

No, I'm going insane from anticipation due to the fact that the EGYPT arc starts tomorrow - why would you ask?

EGPYT!!!! 8:00 here!! Go find out when it comes on for youuuu! EGPYT!

XD XD XD

Maybe a week or so back, a discussion came up in ptdc wherein [livejournal.com profile] shusu mentioned that Seto Kaiba is the foil to Yugi's hero.

Which got me thinking about the way things seem to work in the manga, and how a character's status as good or evil depends on what kind of friend they are. (Rather than how they behave outside of their friendships, but that would be another rant)

The path of friendship? )
spoke: spider with a pen on a book (*insert manical laughter here*)
Okay. omg, squee! I mean, I was hoping it would be good but this! :D

Kazuki Takahashi does the best crack! XD Unfortunatly, I don't have the time to go into detail the way I'd like... maybe tomorrow? *puts on list*

Okay, where to begin. Oooh, let's start with Yugi's fashion sense! )

-5 days! Until Egypt!! @.@ I can make it, I can! Reallly. >.>
spoke: spider with a pen on a book (Default)
Finally! I have Yu-Gi-Oh!

There will be readings at work, because every. single. time. I get my hands on one of these, I can't just start reading right away. No, I torment myself with staring at the colorful cover. And peeking in a bit.

And then reading!

...From peeking, I believe Bakura may be stalking Yugi. >.> Surely someone should warn them of this, oh wait! That was Honda's job!!! And I betcha he didn't say anything. x.x Meanwhile, there is Otogi! I get to see how badly his backstory was screwed with! :o

-6 days until Egypt! *jitters*
spoke: spider with a pen on a book (*insert manical laughter here*)
Last time, on insane Yu-Gi-Oh squee! I gleefully pointed out how very shippily different a certain bit of conversation is in the manga. ^^ Well, last time I did anything of depth, rather than simply saying Squeeeee! >.>

Exit the Kingdom!! )

You know, I like the anime of Yu-Gi-Oh. Really I do.

But I can't help feeling this scene got a bit butchered. When Joey objects to something Mai said and nearly falls off the railing?

It goes something like )
spoke: spider with a pen on a book (*insert manical laughter here*)
This started out thinking about what little I know about the AE arc, and how it seems to have affected Seto, Ryou and Yugi's personalities now.

It diverges from there pretty quickly )

I just woke up. Of my own volition. At 4:30.

Maybe I should pretend I'm planning on going to the mall everyday. Or the bookstore. since my body seems to have a 'wake up for books' presetting.

Or maybe it's just the anticipation of seeing Yugi depress himself senseless while Seto goes on to kick Pegasus's butt - oooh, and Mai should be back! Mai better be back, Yugi just blew his star chips on his Seto. Which does not sound wrong.

...great, now I'm picturing plushie!Seto in a crane game, and Yugi pestering the Pharaoh to win it for him. XD

ETA:

Seto: Games mean conflict. A combat between two enemies... It's the same for all of them! Cards... chess... the blood soaked wars of the human race... All these are different kinds of games... Do you know what God gave to people so they could play games in this world? A single chip... called life. When I threw my chip of life on the board... Yugi exposed his weakness and lost the game!

Anzu: That's not true, Kaiba! You're the one who lost! You say people's struggles are a game! That's totally wrong! Facing yourself no matter how tough things get... and keeping up the fight... that's what games are really about! You bet your chip of life as if it meant nothing! You lost to yourself! When you realized you were going to lose, you didn't have the courage to keep living! Listen... Real courage is protecting that chip you have in your hands... no matter what!

Now, what have we learned from this kiddies? *ignores the impossibility of responses* That's right, Anzu rocks.

Now, for the differances-list

In which I go off the deep end on ranting tangents )
spoke: spider with a pen on a book (Default)
*deep breath*

SQUEE!!!

I have SETO. *_* Who is still in his packaging, as there needs to be a package-opening ceremony of some sort (possibly involving lots of coffee and a picture of the Pharaoh to be ritually shredded ;p ) and also a decent place to put him.

Which there is not.

But I can fix that. >:)

Also I have maps ( <3) and shiny looking chai to make and and and. Srogs!! :D ...I died. XD And a bookmark that I have no idea what to put it in because I just finished one book and I have ideas of what I'd like to read but no access to said books. Because the library hates me right now, for being horrendously late with things, and I'm pretty sure they won't let me have anything until I give these back. -.-;;;

This is a part of my plans for the weekend. Also being a complete vegetable is part of my plans. I suspect there is a conflict in planning to both go places and do things, while also moving as little as possible. >> But I'm not thinking about that part.

Other things... deserve to be responded to in the same format in which they were sent? But thank you. *hugs*

The bright spot of my day.

YuGiOh: Duelist #5 - Blue Eyes Ultimate Dragon. )
spoke: spider with a pen on a book (Listen to meeee!)
This, I have been sitting on forever. And I mean forever, like before the Avatar episode 'King of Omashu', although a lot of it got finished shortly thereafter...

Can't imagine why ;p

But then I got stupidly angsty and it never got typed up - then I started typing and being stupid about that.. >.<

So. Questions, opinions, anything from any Troopers knowledgable persons? ^^

Armor Conflicts )

Caramel Coated

This is the home of much Malik/Bakura, some general strangeness, and some fic recs that make me wonder why. Tiny spot of fic-rambling )

....now why was I making this post? Oooh yes.

She makes music videos. Now, some of the quality is bad? And once I have finally managed to download all of these very large files, I might come back to this and label spoiler-warnings? But none of that matters.

None.

A trailer for Battle City. "Requiem for a Dream" It is 7 minutes long, and it is one of the most beautiful things I've ever seen. This is YuGiOh, this was Battle City, and nothing I can say can convey the drama and the beauty of it this well.

The actual show didn't portray it this well, what with the goofy lines and the inevitable commericial breaks. ;p

So much shock and <3 watching that video. So much flashing back to the best moments, and remembering what I thought at different points. I have hit nostalgia overload here. I'll just be going and watching it again, now.

As I was falling asleep. About 2 in the afternoon, which makes it way past midnight by my clock.

Thought something vaugely annoyed about YGO. And the Pharaoh. And what an arrogant little so-and-so he is.

Pharaoh: Hey! I was the ruler of an entire nation! I grew up with people telling me I was a god! ,,,I miss people telling me I'm a god.

Bakura: *snarly* And I miss thieveing from the tombs of your ancestors! And having people cower in fear before I kill them! So we all can't have what we want now can we? *sulking*

Kaiba Seto: *raidiating smug* ...You know. If either of you would bother developing a useful skill in this life, you'd be too busy to mope around like this.

This marks the first time I have ever seen those two glaring at him. XD Usually it's more Bakura watching or provoking arguments between the other two. For 'watching' see 'waiting to pick off the winner'.

It had been quiet at school. Especially for their school. No random murderers loose in the area, no gaming craze devouring everyone's life. No bullies or thefts (he found himself reaching into his backpack to be certain the Ring was still there) or mysterious anything demanding Yugi's intervention and thus the Pharoah's appearance

Not even so much as a new teacher whose insanity bordered on evil.

Jounouchi was loudly expressing his opinion that they were all going to die of boredom, and Ryou couldn't help agreeing with him. Not that he was going to say so with the teacher's attention being caught by Jou shooting off his mouth again. Instead he watched the small commotion as Anzu and Honda tried to get Jou to shut up, and shared a smile with Yugi before the other boy joined in.

No sense in getting detention himself...

***

Kaiba Seto stared down at his younger brother. "Mokuba, I know you mean well but..."

It was vaugely disturbing to notice that Mokuba's glaring had improved. Had to have, if it was getting to him. "I'm serious, Seto! You need to relax! You need to get out of this - office!" Also disturbing that he caught himself thinking it was cute, the way Mokuba glared at the place as if it had done something to him. Except, of course, that he was not even thinking the word 'cute'.

Mokuba seemed to notice that not-thought, however. Or maybe it was that tiny smile he was too tired to stop in time. "And you better hope I don't redecorate the place while you're gone! If you're gonna be living in here, this place needs a fridge and a game system that doesn't have anything to do with Duel Monsters and... hey - we could put a couple folding cots over there..."

'This is the point,' Seto thought to himself, 'where I wake up and realize I've been having some bizzare nightmare. Any minute now.'

"And then the desk can go over there, out of the way, and..." Mokuba's eyes were lighting up as he darted around the office, plotting the rearrangement of his big brother's life.

'He doesn't know what he's doing.' Seto told himself. 'He doesn't know what he's doing, and I'm still standing here listening to him! What is wrong with me?!'

"Mokuba!" He did not flinch, even if he had said that a bt louder than necessary. It was good that he didn't flinch. He didn't dare show weakness while Mokuba was watching him like some tiny horribly cute monster, just waiting for weakness to reveal that it had fangs the size of its own head.

Like Motou. And every freaking monster in his deck.

And he was comparing his little brother to Motou?!

"Seto?" Mokuba. Waving a hand in front of his face. "Hello in there big brother! You okay?"

Seto glared. "Mokuba. Get off my chair and put it back behind the desk." He waited to until Mokuba was wheeling the chair back into place to add, "And cancel the rest of my appointments for today. This place is making me claustrophobic, I'm going out."

He did not look back. Even if that did sound suspiciously like Mokuba stifling a giggle.

This morning: took Dusky to the vet and had her stitches snipped out and her headgear removed. I now have the happiest kitteh in the world, and what's the first thing she does once I get her home? Obsessive grooming! Broken for the breakfast she did not get when I came home late, picked her up and went straight to the vet. Followed by - more obessive grooming!

Inside Dusky's head: omg, I'll never get clean again, haven't been able to bathe for two weeks!! *shuddershuddershudder* *licklicklick*

However, once I woke up? She seemed to have gotten over it. ^^ Judging by the ankle-biting, psycho attack kitty routine. It's really hard not to spill coffee or drop anything when a little two-pound cat is determined to take you down by the ankles. XD

And now. I am on vacation! *.* I don't have to see the inside of a Walmart for - I'm not even going to think about when! Not going near any Walmarts, any shopping will be done elsewhere! (Or at least not at my own store >.< )

Only, probably the plan come the morning will be to take care of getting my car insurance changed. Blah. ...maybe I'll just go to the mall after that. ^^

Meanwhile, I have seen Samurai Champloo. With some amusing, if potentially uncomfortable, results for headspace. While I was at work... )

A couple of notes:

This is not entirely finished, and will be edited at some point.
It is (not entirely) Lacey's fault.
I was insane before I started and working on this has not helped. ;p
Any suggestions for songs for other characters? O:)

You make the rockin' world go round! )
